    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

    Job Summary:

    The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing the monitoring and evaluation, research, and learning framework of projects. They will develop a systematic monitoring framework to improve the qualitative and quantitative evidence gathered by the projects. The M&E Officer will also provide technical assistance to the implementing agencies, particularly in relation to monitoring, reporting, and governance issues.

     Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop M&E Frameworks: Design and implement M&E systems, including the development of indicators, data collection methods, and tools.
    • Data Collection and Analysis: Oversee data collection processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations for program improvements.
    • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, impact, and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Capacity Building: Train project staff and partners on M&E methodologies and best practices.
    • Field Visits: Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and verify data.
    • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with program staff, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of M&E activities.
    • Knowledge Management: Document lessons learned, best practices, and innovations in M&E to support organizational learning and improvement.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Health, Development Studies, or related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3  years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the non-profit sector or related field.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in M&E methods and approaches, including quantitative, qualitative, and participatory methodologies. Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA) and data visualization tools.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in local languages is an asset.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Strong organizational, team-working, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling data and preparing reports.
    • Problem-Solving:Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    Legal Counsel

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join our team. The Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to HelpMum Africa's operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit law, corporate governance, and contract management, with a passion for supporting maternal and child health initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, contracts, intellectual property, employment law, and risk management.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure the organization’s interests are protected.
    • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws and regulations relevant to HelpMum Africa’s operations.
    • Advise on legal aspects of funding agreements, grants, and partnerships with other organizations and governmental bodies.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
    • Represent HelpMum Africa in legal proceedings, disputes, and negotiations as required.
    • Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices affecting the organization.
    • Collaborate with external legal advisors and consultants as necessary.
    • Support the Board of Directors and senior management in understanding and complying with legal obligations and corporate governance best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Legal qualification from an accredited institution in Nigeria.
    • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on  corporate governance, and contract management.
    • Experience working with non-profit organizations, particularly in the healthcare sector, is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of local, national, and international laws and regulations affecting non-profit organizations.
    • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical, solution-oriented advice.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
