    HEMM Operator

    Job Summary

    The HEMM Operator at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for operating Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (Dumper, Excavator & Driller) in a safe and effective manner for effective productivity.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operate assigned heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation and policies
    • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of machinery.
    • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as scheduled or required.
    • Ensure all heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
    • Participate in routine maintenance of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery.
    • Recommend any requirements for maintenance or repairs to the Shift Coordinator.
    • Practice workplace safety.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Shift Engineer from time to time.

    Requirements

    • A Trade Test or its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
    • A minimum of two (2) years experience in the operation of heavy equipment.
    • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Good networking and teaming skills.
    • Good data gathering and analysis skills.
    • Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.
    • Creativity and an ability to think out of the box.
    • Proficiency in the use of office productivity tools.

    Head of Maintenance

    Job Purpose:

    • The Head of Maintenance is responsible for leading and overseeing the entire maintenance function of DPL plant.
    • This includes preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all machinery involved in tape extrusion, weaving, circular looms, lamination, printing, conversion, and utilities. The role ensures maximum machine uptime, efficient asset management, cost control, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across the plant.

    Dutiies & Responsibilities:

     Maintenance Strategy & Planning

    • Develop and implement comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all production and utility equipment.
    • Plan and supervise shutdown maintenance activities.
    • Establish maintenance KPIs such as MTTR, MTBF, breakdown frequency, energy efficiency, and uptime.

    Equipment & Machinery Maintenance

    • Lead maintenance activities for:
      • Tape extrusion lines
      • Circular looms (4/6 shuttle, 8/10/12 shuttle)
      • Lamination/coating plants
      • Flexographic & rotogravure printing machines
      • Bag conversion & stitching machines
      • Air compressors, chillers, boilers, generators
      • Material handling systems
    • Improve machine life, reliability, and performance through engineering interventions.

     Team Leadership

    • Manage and mentor a team of maintenance engineers, supervisors, technicians, and electricians.
    • Ensure skill development through regular training programs.
    • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to procedures.

     Breakdown & Troubleshooting

    • Ensure quick diagnosis and resolution of machine breakdowns to minimize downtime.
    • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for repetitive issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
    • Maintain a 24/7 readiness plan for critical equipment.

     Inventory & Spare Parts Management

    • Optimize spare parts inventory and maintain critical stock levels.
    • Coordinate with procurement for cost-effective sourcing of spares and consumables.
    • Reduce maintenance cost through standardization and vendor development.

    Safety, Compliance & Documentation

    • Ensure compliance with ISO, safety, audit, and legal requirements.
    • Maintain proper documentation: machine history cards, maintenance logs, calibration records, Lubrication charts.
    • Implement safety practices such as LOTO, PPE usage, and hazard-risk assessments.

     Project Management & Improvements

    • Lead installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new machinery.
    • Drive continuous improvement and energy optimization initiatives.
    • Develop automation and digitalization strategies wherever feasible.

    Job Requirement:

    Educational Qualification & Experience

    • Education: Minimum B. Eng. or HND in MEchanical Engineering or related disciplines
    • Experience: Minimum 10 - 20 years in maintenance, preferably in PP woven sacls/plastics/pakaging manufacturing
    • Added Advantage: Experience in managing large manufacturing facilities and multi-disciplinary teams 
    • Professional Membership & Certifications: COREN. Added advantage: NSE, PMP

    Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of PP woven sac machinery & processes
    • Expertise in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems
    • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
    • Leadership and team-building abilities
    • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, VFDs, PLCs
    • Budgeting, planning, and vendor management
    • Strong documentation and reporting skills
    • Commitment to workplace safety

    Account Officer

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s financial operations. Involves managing day‑to‑day accounting activities, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and providing reliable financial information to support effective decision‑making.

    Job Responsibilties

    • Daily coding of TAF before posting.
    • Raising correction JVs and posting same whenever required.
    • Daily posting of TAF (Payment vouchers).
    • Posting Vendor payments into suppliers’ accounts.
    • Provide relevant documents during Interim and Final Year Statutory Audit.
    • Any other responsibility as may become necessary by the Line Manager.

    Qualification / Experience

    • HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of 0–3 years of relevant hands‑on accounting experience.  
    • Proficiency in SAP accounting modules.

    Competence Requirements:

    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial records.
    • Proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel.
    • Analytical and problem‑solving skills for financial discrepancies.
    • High level of integrity, professionalism, and regulatory compliance.
    • Effective time management and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
    • Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

    Packaging Machine Operator

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for operating and monitoring packaging machines to ensure products are packaged efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards.
    • Involves setting up machines, performing routine checks, basic troubleshooting, and following safety, hygiene, and production requirements to meet daily output targets.

    Job Responsibilties

    • Ensure production and quality standards are met.
    • Ensure availability of packaging machines.
    • Ensure the operation of the machine with minimal waste.
    • Diagnose machine faults and implement corrective actions.
    • Ensure operation of machines with minimal downtime.
    • Ensure clean environment and packaging machine.

    Qualification / Experience

    • WAEC or SSCE in a relevant discipline.

    • Strong technical knowledge of machines, safety, and GMP.
    • Effective communication and people skills.

    Competence Requirements:

    • Operates, sets up, and adjusts packaging machines while performing routine checks and minor troubleshooting.
    • Follows all safety, hygiene, and quality standards in line with approved operating procedures.
    • Identifies machine or process issues quickly and takes appropriate corrective or escalation actions.
    • Maintains production efficiency by meeting output targets and minimizing downtime and material waste.
    • Ensures accuracy and consistency in packaging quality, labeling, and product specifications.
    • Works collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance, and production teams and communicates issues clearly.
    • Demonstrates reliability, discipline, and flexibility to work shifts in a manufacturing environment.
