    Field Agents

    Job Summary

    • The Field Agent serves as the primary link between the cooperative and its members in the field. The role involves mobilizing new members, collecting savings and loan repayments, conducting member verification, and promoting cooperative products and services within assigned communities. The ideal candidate should be trustworthy, community-oriented, and able to build strong relationships with members while ensuring compliance with cooperative policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Mobilize new members and promote awareness of the cooperative’s products and services.
    • Collect members’ savings, loan repayments, and other dues, ensuring proper documentation and timely submission.
    • Maintain accurate field records of transactions, member details, and feedback.
    • Verify member information and eligibility for loans, savings schemes, and other cooperative benefits.
    • Monitor loan usage and repayment performance in assigned communities.
    • Provide regular updates and field reports to the Cooperative Officer and Finance Department.
    • Support the organization of cooperative meetings, training sessions, and community sensitization programs.
    • Identify business opportunities and community needs that align with cooperative objectives.
    • Ensure compliance with cooperative policies, ethical standards, and financial integrity in all dealings.
    • Serve as the cooperative’s representative in assigned areas, fostering trust, transparency, and accountability.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Minimum of an OND in Business Administration, Cooperative Management, Accounting, Marketing, or related field.
    • Prior experience in fieldwork, microfinance, or cooperative operations is an advantage.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple field activities.
    • Honest, reliable, and committed to maintaining cooperative values.
    • Basic knowledge of record-keeping, cash handling, and reporting.

    Cooperative Officer

    Job Summary:

    • The Cooperative Officer is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, member relations, and financial activities of the cooperative society. The role involves mobilizing membership, coordinating savings and loan schemes, ensuring compliance with cooperative policies, and supporting the growth and sustainability of the society. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, people-focused, and skilled in financial administration and community engagement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage the cooperative’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth administrative and financial processes.
    • Develop strategies for membership growth, engagement, and retention.
    • Maintain accurate records of members, savings, loans, and other financial transactions.
    • Coordinate loan processing, repayment monitoring, and follow-up on defaults in line with cooperative policies.
    • Ensure compliance with cooperative laws, bylaws, and relevant regulatory requirements.
    • Organize members’ meetings, training sessions, and annual general meetings (AGMs).
    • Facilitate communication between the cooperative management and members, ensuring transparency and trust.
    • Support financial planning, budgeting, and investment decisions for the cooperative’s growth.
    • Promote cooperative principles, member welfare, and community development initiatives.

    Key Qualifications & Skills:

    • Minimum of an HND/BSc. in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cooperative administration, microfinance, or related financial service roles.
    • Good understanding of cooperative principles, financial management, and member relations.
    • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

    Finance Officer

    Job Summary:

    • The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the cooperative’s financial operations, ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance with established financial policies. The role involves budgeting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and monitoring of savings, loans, and investment activities. The ideal candidate will have strong financial management skills, a good understanding of cooperative finance systems, and the ability to support decision-making through accurate financial analysis and reporting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all financial transactions of the cooperative including savings, loans, investments, and expenditures.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with cooperative and regulatory standards.
    • Develop and monitor budgets, ensuring proper allocation and utilization of funds.
    • Conduct periodic reconciliation of accounts, ledgers and bank statements.
    • Track loan repayments, interest calculations, and default rates, ensuring proper follow-up and documentation.
    • Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring all financial documentation and compliance requirements are met.
    • Advise management on financial risks, cost-saving opportunities, and investment decisions.

    Key Qualifications & Skills:

    • Minimum of an HND/BSc. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in in financial management, cooperative finance, or microfinance operations.
    • Strong understanding of cooperative financial systems, loan administration, and regulatory compliance.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or other cooperative finance platforms).
    • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    •  Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
