Summary

The role of Accounts Trade Finance and Treasury Specialist where you will mostly be focusing on managing all aspects of trade finance, maintaining banking relationships, and assist the CFO in preparing management reports, coordinating with external auditors, and ensuring the organization meets its financial and compliance goals.

Responsibilities

Accounting Duties

• Assist the CFO in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
• Prepare and provide all financial documents required for external audits, including trial balances, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of statutory filings, tax returns, and compliance reports.
• Manage general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable processes, and payroll activities.
• Develop and maintain financial controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
• Monitor budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights to improve financial performance.
• Support internal audits and address any queries from external auditors.

Trade Finance Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for all trade finance responsibilities and issues.
• Manage, monitor, and analyze export trade finance instruments, including letters of credit, standby 
• letters of credit, bonds, and guarantees.
• Issue, monitor, and request documentary letters of credit and related amendments.
• Liaise with banks, buyers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely financial security issuance, 
• receipt of payments, and delivery of goods.
• Ensure compliance with financial transaction regulations for restricted (sanctioned) markets.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance reporting, eliminate settlement delays, and positively impact working capital.

Treasury Duties

• Maintain and develop strong relationships with banking partners, ensuring optimal banking support for the company.
• Prepare ad hoc strategic and financial reports as requested by management.
• Support the implementation of automated issuance and tracking processes via banking platforms.
• Ensure policies and procedures for treasury and trade finance activities are up-to-date and adhered to.

Cross-Functional Support

• Collaborate with the risk, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment of financial and operational objectives.
• Provide regular updates to the CFO and other senior leaders on financial performance and trade finance activities.

Key Deliverables

• Timely and accurate financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Compliance with audit and statutory requirements, including filing of audited reports with relevant authorities.
• Effective management of trade finance instruments and treasury operations.
• Identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance financial and operational efficiency.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Accuracy and timeliness of management reports and financial statements.
• Effective facilitation of external audits and resolution of audit queries.
• Optimization of working capital and trade finance instruments.
• Strength of relationships with banking partners and internal stakeholders.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or CITN.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, with a focus on accounting, trade finance, or treasury management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of financial controls and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
