    Cost Accounting Executive (Farm Operations – Field Based)

    Role Overview

    • The Cost Accounting Executive (Farm Operations) is responsible for providing hands-on financial and cost accounting support to farm and field operations.
    • The role serves as the financial control and cost management anchor for farm activities, ensuring accurate cost capture, disciplined cash handling, effective budget monitoring, and timely financial reporting.
    • This position is field-based and operational, requiring close collaboration with farm supervisors, operations managers, and the Head Office Finance team to ensure that farm productivity is supported by sound financial discipline, cost transparency, and internal controls.

    Key Objectives of the Role

    • To ensure accurate cost accounting and financial control across farm operations
    • To support management with reliable cost data, expenditure tracking, and variance reporting
    • To strengthen financial discipline, accountability, and asset protection at the farm level.

    Key Responsibilities
    Cost & Farm Operations Accounting:

    • Track and analyze farm operational costs including seeds, inputs, labour, feed, fuel, logistics, utilities, and field activities
    • Prepare and maintain farm cost sheets, unit cost analysis, and expenditure summaries
    • Support product costing and pricing inputs by providing accurate cost data
    • Conduct basic cost reduction and efficiency analysis in collaboration with operations teams.

    Cash, Petty Cash & Expenditure Control:

    • Administer and reconcile petty cash and field cash advances
    • Ensure all expenditures are supported with appropriate documentation and approvals
    • Monitor daily cash usage and submit regular cash position updates
    • Implement and enforce basic internal controls to safeguard company assets.

    Budgeting & Performance Monitoring:

    • Support the preparation of farm operational budgets
    • Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets and report variances
    • Provide explanations for cost deviations and recommend corrective actions.

    Reporting & Documentation:

    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly farm financial and cost reports
    • Maintain accurate records of inventory, consumables, and operational expenses
    • Compile cost and operational metrics for management review
    • Support internal and external audit exercises with complete documentation.

    Payroll & Vendor Support:

    • Validate attendance and work records for farm labour (attendance-to-payroll support)
    • Support vendor payment processing and supplier reconciliation
    • Liaise with procurement and operations teams to verify field transactions.

    Collaboration & Compliance:

    • Work closely with Farm Supervisors and Operations Managers to validate transactions
    • Interface with the Head of Finance and Head Office Accounts team to ensure compliance with financial procedures
    • Support adherence to company accounting policies and documented procedures.

    Reporting Line:

    • Reports to: Head of Finance / Finance Manager
    • Functional Interface: Farm Operations Manager, Procurement, HR (for payroll inputs).

    Qualifications & Experience

    • OND / HND / BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
    • Minimum of 4 - 7 years hands-on accounting experience
    • Prior experience in cost accounting, farm operations, manufacturing, FMCG, or production environments is highly desirable

    Technical & Professional Skills:

    • Strong understanding of cost accounting and operational finance
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software
    • Good knowledge of petty cash systems, internal controls, and documentation standards
    • Ability to work effectively in a field-based, operations-driven environment.

    Professional Certifications (Advantage):

    • ACA / ICAN / ANAN (full or part qualification)
    • Training or exposure to:
      • Cost accounting
      • Management accounting
      • Inventory / stock control.

    Production Chemist (Essential Oils & Personal Care Products)

    Role Overview

    • We are seeking a hands-on Production Chemist to support the formulation, processing, and quality control of its product lines, including soaps, body wash, diffusers, essential oils, and aromatic plant distillates (e.g. lemongrass and other botanicals).
    • The successful candidate will work directly within the farm settlement and processing facility, supporting end-to-end production — from raw material processing and distillation to finished product formulation — while ensuring quality, safety, and process consistency.
    • This role is ideal for a practical, production-oriented chemist with strong interest in agro-processing, natural products, and industrial-scale manufacturing.

    Key Responsibilities
    Production & Processing:

    • Support the distillation of lemongrass and other aromatic plants for essential oil extraction
    • Assist in the formulation and production of soaps, body wash, diffusers, and related products
    • Monitor production processes to ensure consistency, yield optimisation, and minimal waste
    • Ensure proper handling, storage, and processing of raw materials and finished products

    Quality Control & Compliance:

    • Conduct basic quality checks on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products
    • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines
    • Maintain accurate production and batch records
    • Support product improvement initiatives and formulation adjustments

    Equipment & Facility Support:

    • Support routine cleaning, calibration, and basic maintenance of production and distillation equipment
    • Report equipment faults or process deviations promptly
    • Work closely with farm and operations teams to align production schedules with raw material availability

    Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain production logs, batch records, and inventory usage reports
    • Provide regular updates to the Production Lead / Operations Manager
    • Support internal audits, inspections, and regulatory documentation as required

    Reporting Line:

    • Reports to: Operations Manager
    • Functional Interface: Farm Operations, Quality Control, Procurement, HR

    Qualifications & Experience
    Academic Qualifications:

    • Candidates should possess a BSc / HND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering

    Experience:

    • Must have 3 - 7 years experience in:
      • Soap and personal care production, or
      • Essential oil distillation, FMCG, cosmetics, or chemical processing
    • Fresh graduates with strong practical exposure and willingness to learn may be considered

    Technical & Professional Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of:
      • Chemical formulations and mixing processes
      • Distillation and extraction techniques
      • Quality control and safety practices
    • Ability to work in a production and farm-based environment
    • Good documentation and reporting skills

    Residency Requirement (Very Important):

    • The successful candidate must be willing to reside within the farm settlement / industrial park
    • Accommodation will be provided in line with company policy
