    Oncology Pharmacy Technician

    Job Purpose

    • The Oncology Pharmacy Technician will support the Clinical Pharmacist (Oncology) in the safe, efficient, and aseptic preparation of cancer therapies at AMCE. The role holder will be responsible for the technical aspects of chemotherapy dispensing, inventory management of hazardous drugs, and maintaining compliance with international safety standards for cytotoxic handling. Working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, this role is critical to ensuring that oncology patients receive accurate, sterile, and timely medications.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    Aseptic Compounding and Dispensing

    • Prepare chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biologic agents under strict aseptic conditions using vertical flow hoods and closed-system transfer devices (CSTDs).
    • Perform final accuracy checks on prepared doses (drug, diluent, dose volume, and patient identity) prior to verification by a pharmacist.
    • Label and package oncology medications in compliance with hazardous drug handling standards.
    • Maintain competency in non-hazardous and hazardous sterile compounding techniques.

    Clinical Collaboration and Patient Care

    • Manage the procurement, receipt, and storage of all oncology pharmaceuticals, including investigational drugs.

    Technology and Automation

    • Operate oncology-specific pharmacy information systems for order entry and labelling.
    • Utilize barcode scanning technology to verify drugs and patients during the dispensing process.
    • Support the implementation of dose-banding protocols to optimise workflow.

    Education, Skills and Competencies

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy Technology / Pharmaceutical Sciences from an accredited institution.
    • Valid technician license or registration with the relevant pharmacy council.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician, with at least 1 year in an oncology or sterile compounding setting.
    • Certification in Aseptic Techniques / IV Chemotherapy Compounding.
    • In-depth understanding of cytotoxic drug handling, PPE requirements, and spill management.

    Job Purpose

    • The Junior Consultant in Internal Medicine with subspecialty training in Endocrinology will provide advanced clinical care to patients with complex endocrine disorder under the supervision of senior consultants.     Senior Registrar, Oncology (Radiotherapy)

    Job Purpose

    • The Senior Registrar – Oncology (Radiotherapy) will be responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, and delivery of precision radiation oncology services under the clinical supervision of the Consultant Radiotherapist (Oncology). The role holder will ensure accurate and timely radiotherapy treatment, contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making, and drive continuous improvement in patient safety, treatment outcomes, and departmental innovation.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    Radiotherapy Planning and Treatment Delivery

    • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic imaging, pathology, and staging information to determine radiotherapy suitability.
    • Prescribe, plan, and oversee the delivery of complex radiotherapy regimens, including curative, adjuvant, and palliative intent treatments, under consultant supervision.

    • Demonstrated competency in the planning and delivery of external beam radiotherapy, including 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT, and image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT).
    • Proven experience in target volume contouring and the use of modern radiotherapy planning systems.

    Clinical Psychologist

    Job Purpose

    • The Clinical Psychologist will provide specialised mental health services, including comprehensive psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Working as part of the multidisciplinary General Medical and Surgical Services Directorate, the role holder will ensure holistic patient care, support recovery, and promote mental health awareness within the hospital.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    Psychological Assessment

    • Conduct thorough psychological evaluations using interviews, psychometric testing, and behavioural observations.
    • Diagnose mental health conditions in line with recognised diagnostic frameworks.
    • Develop detailed psychological profiles to inform patient care.
    • Provide specialised assessments, including pre-surgical psychological evaluations.

    Therapy and Intervention

    • Design and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as CBT, DBT, and psychotherapy.
    • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
    • Monitor progress and adapt treatment plans accordingly.
    • Provide crisis intervention for patients in acute distress.

    Multidisciplinary Collaboration

    • Work closely with medical and surgical teams to integrate psychological care into overall treatment plans.

    Medical Physicist (Brachytherapy)

    Job Purpose

    • The Medical Physicist (Brachytherapy) will be responsible for the safe, precise, and effective delivery of brachytherapy treatments within AMCE. The role holder will oversee all aspects of treatment planning, radiation safety, quality assurance, and equipment management for both HDR (High-Dose-Rate) and LDR (Low-Dose-Rate) brachytherapy services. He/ She would ensure compliance with regulatory standards, contributes to clinical protocol development, and provides expertise within a multidisciplinary oncology team.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    Brachytherapy Treatment Planning & Delivery

    • Perform and oversee complex treatment planning for HDR and LDR brachytherapy procedures across various disease sites.
    • Ensure accurate calculation and administration of radiation doses, verifying dose distributions and optimizing plans for clinical efficacy.
    • Operate, calibrate, and perform acceptance testing of brachytherapy treatment planning systems and remote afterloaders.

    Quality Assurance & Compliance

    • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Quality Assurance program for all brachytherapy equipment, sources, and procedures.
    • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and source inventory checks in accordance with regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure strict compliance with relevant radiation safety standards.

    Radiation Safety & Source Management 

    • Oversee the safe handling, storage, receipt, and disposal of all radioactive brachytherapy sources.
    • Manage radiation monitoring for staff and patients and implement emergency procedures for source-related incidents.
    • Provide radiation safety training and guidance to clinical staff, including physicians, therapists, and nurses.

    Research & Innovation

    • Engage in research and development to advance brachytherapy techniques, such as novel applications and imaging fusion for planning.
    • Contribute to clinical trials, protocol development, and the implementation of new brachytherapy technologies.
    • Publish and present research findings in peer-reviewed platforms and conferences.

    Training & Mentorship

    • Train and mentor junior physicists, dosimetrists, and technologists on brachytherapy principles, planning, and safety procedures.
    • Build local capacity and transfer knowledge to strengthen the brachytherapy team’s expertise.
    • Support academic collaborations with universities and training institutions.

    Leadership & Collaboration 

    • Work closely with radiation oncologists, oncology nurses, and other team members in a multidisciplinary environment to ensure high-quality patient care.
    • Represent the medical physics section in institutional committees and contribute to strategic planning for radiation oncology services.
    • Support AMCE’s vision for excellence in cancer treatment and contribute to continuous service improvement.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in brachytherapy physics, with hands-on expertise in HDR and/or LDR procedures.
    • Demonstrated experience in brachytherapy treatment planning, source management, and radiation safety protocols.
    • Prior experience in the commissioning of brachytherapy equipment and development of clinical protocols.
    • Hands-on experience with brachytherapy planning systems, dosimetry equipment, and afterloading machines.
    • Strong knowledge of radiation physics, radiobiology, and brachytherapy principles
    • Experience in training or supervising staff in a clinical physics environment.
