    Sales Trainer

    Job Profile
    Providing startup sales training to new inbound Field Sales Representatives (FSR). This role will have a support team of Sales

    Trainers and Sales Training Specialists reporting to it. Purpose of the Job is to equip new FSR with theoretical and practical

    knowledge and skills in the problem led sales approach.

    Reporting line: Director Sales Recruitment and Training

    Key Responsibilities

    Process
    Understand and champion 8 day training process and content. Solely responsible for localizing content and can change process with Director level approval
    Objective / Output: Localized process and tools broadly in line with Master copy and approved by Dir. R&T

    Train new FSR:

    • This position is responsible for following an 8 day training process and curriculum. Mornings are generally spent in classroom type training and afternoons on role play. The Senior Sales Trainer needs to oversee and be an expert in both.
    • Objective / Output: Industrialized output of consistently trained FSR who are immediately achieving target productivity & active
    • levels.

    Monitor class progress:

    • This position is solely responsible for deciding which inbound FSR candidates are accepted as the FSR and which are deemed unsuitable. Sales results are tracked against each trainer.
    • Objective / Output: Retention rates double from 2017 due to high calibre of new FSRs.

    Track results in first month:

    • Once training is complete Trainer needs to follow up with each new FSR and track their results individually. Liaising with OpCo leadership as needed to maximize the FSRs chances of success.
    • Objective / Output: Target productivity & active targets for Month 1 met.

    Organisation of training and follow up:

    • Oversee and organise entire start up training process Including all planning, supplies, venues, tracking and linkages to OpCo.
    • Work with relevant OpCo leadership and support teams to troubleshoot issues.
    • Objective / Output: Streamlined and smooth sales training with all controllables taken care of.

    Communication:

    • Follow OGE processes on reporting, sales and leadership.
    • Communicate results, processes and R&T responsibilities widely within the OpCo and to R&T leadership.
    • Objective / Output: Widespread OpCo understanding of R & T responsibilities and results

    Requirements

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
    • 3 years of relevant work experience
    • Track record of being a Top Sales performer in Energy sales - Solar, Generator
    • Training experience in Energy - Solar, Generator
    • Deep understanding of sales and the sales processes

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Frequent travel required.
    • Training occurs in the field, each training cycle takes 11 days and staff often carry out 3 - 5 cycles consecutively.

    Reporting line: Sales Recruitment Coordinator

    Job Profile

    To recruit and screen top notch inbound candidates for Field Sales Representative (FSR) role who will be on boarded 

    by the Sales training team. To work closely with sales training as well as sales management to deliver projected FSR

    headcount.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Recruitment & Selection

    • Coordinate the preparation, approval and publication of FSR job adverts, aligned to the recruitment process.
    • Coordinate screening and interview process by scheduling interviews, and lead the FSR interview process.
    • Effectively use requisite recruitment tools during recruitment process.
    • Prepare a shortlist of candidates to be trained.
    • Invite to training all the selected candidates from the shortlist.

    Objective / Output:

    • Improved inbound profile.
    • Productivity targets met in month 1.
    • FSR Retention rates double.
    • On time closure of recruitment as per process.
    • Deliver headcount as per Opco Projections.

    2. Communication

    • Update Recruitment and training dashboard for recruitment sections and make sure it is always updated.
    • Plan for quarterly screening dates and communicate those dates to OpCo at the beginning of each quarter
    • Provide continuous screening updates to the recruitment and training team and Sales Opco team.
    • Prepare end of recruitment report and share it with Sales OpCo and Trainers.
    • Conduct handover to the training team as soon as the recruitment and selection process for each region is over.

    Objective / Output:

    • OpCo understands value of the recruiting role
    • Leadership team can readily quote key results in productivity and retention
    • Motivated and disciplined team

    3. Stakeholder Engagement

    • Participate in monthly Core Team Meetings and monthly Performance Review Meetings to discuss delivery on sales headcount and training, input into the identification and resolution of operational problems.
    • Communicate daily with the Senior Direct Sales Trainer to provide the necessary updates on ongoing training activities to highlight problem areas.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with sales training team members to ensure business continuity and smooth running of operations.
    • Engage with sales team, customers, authorities, councilors and elective representatives in villages to develop and maintain relationships.
    • Support the collaboration across recruitment and training teams in other OpCos to understand and resolve problems on the ground.

    Objective / Output:

    • Relationships result in business advocates and business opportunities
    • Field Sales Representative performance improvement.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor Degree in Public Administration, Human Resources or any other related field.
    • 3 years experience in Direct Sales or recruitment.
