    Underwriting Executive

    Job Summary

    • The Underwriting Executive must be able to Underwrite the credit worthiness of customers in other to mitigate the overall risk of the company.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Reviewing and analyzing the creditworthiness of all potential customers based on risk criteria.
    • To evaluate all quantitative details in the applications with a view to make objective decisions based on empirical facts from financial information evaluated.
    • Reviewing application for credit facilities with a view to point out deviations from the company’s credit policy and highlight quality assurance issues in credit proposals received from business areas.
    • Performing various departmental functions including loan covenant monitoring, risk rating, audit preparation and recovery as assigned by HOD.
    • Ensure Credits requiring amendments are communicated to the business areas to amend as appropriate.
    • To evaluate all quantitative details in the applications with a view to make objective decisions based on empirical facts from financial information evaluated.
    • To communicate to the business areas the credit corners and the quality assurance issues for responses/resolutions.
    • Ensuring that all credit approvals, KYC are in place documentation is duly executed and that the company’s interest is well protected.
    • Conducting credit search (CRS & CRC Report) on credit bureau database.
    • Conducting Email Verification & preparing Transaction Consummation Report.
    • Reviewing transactions for final checklist and approval.

    Requirements:

    • B.Sc. in Finance, Accounting or any relevant field.
    • Minimum of 2 years and above experience with a financial background.
    • A knack for figures and passionate about analysis and process optimization.
    • Must be abreast with the current reporting
      standard.
    • Ability to interpret financial statement.
    • In-depth knowledge of IFRS principles and changes.
    • Ability to effectively lead and direct a team and drive developed strategies.

    Underwriting Fraud Strategist

    Job Summary

    • The Underwriting Fraud Strategist will perform various duties to protect the credit underwriting unit and the entire organization from known or suspected internal or external fraudulent activities, with a primary focus on detecting, preventing and following policies and procedures to ensure the reduction of potential losses.
    • The analyst proactively prevents fraud/loss by analyzing fraud patterns/trends, and monitors high-risk account activity.
    • Coordinates activities to resolve and prevent fraud across the organization.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Interacts with members as needed who are reporting fraudulent activity.
    • Reviews suspicious accounts for potential fraud.
    • Reviews suspicious documentation submitted for both new transactions and loans.
    • Review and Process all consumer statements on credit bureaus.
    • Assist the Compliance department in compiling relevant information and narrative to make the determination if needed.
    • Analyzes and conducts investigations of potentially fraudulent activity, to ensure minimal loss to the organization.
    • Coordinates cross-functional communication, to resolve fraud situations and provides recommendations to resolve fraud.
    • Collaborates with the internal audit department to monitor the underwriting activities, prevent and mitigate risks and potential losses.
    • Maintains the fraud analytics database, tracks fraud trends and statuses of various types of fraud.
    • Periodically train and educate the underwriting team to identify and respond to potential fraud trends and situations.
    • Develop, build and prioritize risk into classes
    • Compiles various reports for management, to update the status of current investigations, and necessary actions

    • Develops, maintains, and implements policies/procedures to detect and prevent fraudulent activity.

    Underwriting Portfolio Strategist

    Job Summary

    • Underwriting Portfolio and Strategist will carefully monitor the underwriting unit’s portfolio and constantly optimizing same for effective performance, as well as translating and communicating high-level directions for ‘front line’ underwriters, i.e., underwriters assessing risks on individual accounts, to follow.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Develop strategies that can enable risk control.
    • Demonstrate a high degree of empathy for the business and customers, and bring creativity and structured
    • thinking towards portfolios management and policy design/implementation.
    • Develop strategies to determine loan risk and customer behavioral trend.
    • Partner with business units and other stakeholders to develop credit strategies to meet business goals

    • Keep abreast of latest analytical tools and techniques and use them to develop strategies
    • Act as gatekeepers to ensure adequately priced and fairly selected exposures are entering the company’s books.

    Lead, Data Assurance

    Job Description

    • This role ensures the accuracy of all bank reconciliation officers checks and balances of postings into the ERP vis-à-vis bank ledger. The role supervises the bank reconciliation officers.
    • The role is to ensure quality and near perfect data accuracy of posted payments by thorough second-level checks carried out by bank reconciliations officers.

    Duties& Responsibilities
    Data Assurance Supervisor:

    • Review all data for errors and report any unusually findings to management.
    • Collect and determine completed of all information posted into the ERP vis-à-vis bank ledger.
    • Generate weekly and monthly reports regarding sales information or areas to be improved upon.
    • Ensure proper updates of required software and train existing/new posting officers as needed on company processes.
    • File and organize paperwork used to enter data into programs to keep a record of original documents.
    • Any other tasks as may be assigned by management.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics or related Degree.
    • 3+ years of relevant experience with knowledge of commercial credit risk strategies.
    • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, required.
    • Superior communication, organization and presentation skills desired.
    • Experience with and in the use of IFRS.

    Job Knowledge:

    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and comfort with evaluating financial statements and business models across a range of industries.
    • Must have excellent quantitative and analytical skills, along with the ability to apply those skills across a variety of business processes.
    • Possess a working knowledge of consumer credit risk management and sound market and industry knowledge.
    • Have an understanding of the key drivers of consumer loan/credit card financials and the underlying consumer behaviors that drive those financials.
