    EY Parthenon - Strategy Manager

    EY-Parthenon has more than 25 years of experience in questioning the status quo with and for clients, as well as advising on strategies that are centered on each client's potential.     Therefore EY-Parthenon is looking to attract Manager who is looking for entrepreneurship and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment on different levels.

    Your key responsibilities

    The EY-Parthenon Manager will have a leading role in the development and execution of the strategy services in Nigeria. Our teams work on a variety of client issues. The range of assignments includes developing long-term strategies for organizations, evaluating the potential acquisition of businesses, improving programme outcomes, developing new marketing channel strategies, reducing operating costs, and evaluating new business ventures.

    The selected candidate will be expected to:

    • Contribute to business development by preparing client meetings and project proposals and by participating in client discussions
    • Lead client projects and engagement teams to deliver high quality outputs on the above range of engagements
    • Maintain relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels.
    • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of all phases and aspects of strategy development and implementation
    • Demonstrate ability to not only identify strategic opportunities, risks and issues, but also to recommend resolutions
    • Deliver a high degree of client satisfaction with the engagement process and work products sufficient to drive additional and repeated engagements
    • Successfully supervise, coach, and mentor all levels of staff

    Skills and attributes for success

    • 4-7 years working experience in a strategy advisory company and/or in a corporate strategy department

    To qualify for the role you must have

    • Bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic performance.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical ability to shape the business agenda and define strategic roadmaps
    • Experience with managing complex business projects, working with multi-disciplinary teams
    • Strong people and leadership skills (incl. cross-functional collaboration, team management and people development & coaching)
    • Strong internal and external business development acumen
    • Entrepreneurial spirit, team player and excellent communicator

    Ideally, you’ll also have

    • An MBA degree will be considered as a strong asset
    • Excellent communication skills and within a virtual working environment

    Senior Manager, EY Parthenon

    The opportunity

    EY Parthenon – Commercial Strategy works on the most complex and high-profile commercial strategies, transactions, and turn-arounds, across a broad portfolio of clients and industry sectors. We are a group of experienced industry professionals with a background in strategy & commercial operations who are strategic advisers, which enables us to bring a wealth of deep sector and functional knowledge to our clients. As a team, we prepare and execute separation and integration strategies and plans, identify ways to maximize stakeholder value through customer and revenue opportunities, as well as advise on risk mitigation and the successful transformation of operations, functions, and people. 

    Your key responsibilities

    As a Senior Manager in EY Parthenon – Commercial Strategy, you will be a vital member of the executive team leading and executing strategy development, transactions, and turn-arounds for our clients. You'll collaborate with our EY Parthenon team members to realize improved returns for clients by identifying and unlocking value through improvements in corporate/BU strategy, go-to-market strategy (including digital), commercial operating model, and optimization of the commercial functions (sales, service, marketing, pricing), while minimizing customer disruption. You will identify, define, quantify, and realize sustainable value through revenue enhancement and cost and margin improvement tied to the commercial aspects of the clients' business. You will also focus on business and practice development as well as developing team members to achieve their career goals.

    To qualify for the role you must have

    • A bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or Analytics and 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 10 years of related work experience.
    • MBA is preferred.
    • Significant transactions (buy and/or sell side) management consulting experience.
    • Experience in the following:
      • Corporate and/or BU strategy development.
      • Commercial functions (e.g., sales, marketing, customer service, pricing).
      • Go-to-market strategy and revenue synergy design/capture for traditional, digital and hybrid commercial models.
      • Evaluation of market landscape including market size, competition, market trends and resulting commercial implications.
      • Pre-deal strategy including growth assessments (e.g., profitability assessments, clean room, etc.).
    • Experience leading and managing in complex business environments.
    • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally.
    • Must be willing and able to travel up to 80% on short notice. 

    Ideally, you'll also have

    • A proven record of excellence in a transactions and/or commercial strategy role.
    • Experience gained within another large professional services organization.
    • Established networking skills in a relevant industry.
