    Radiography Technician

    Job Overview and Duties

    • Facilitate access to imaging and provide timely reporting that facilitates efficient patient flows and meets treatment objectives
    • As directed by the Radiologist, perform work according to the weekly timetable
    • Ensure reports are dictated/transcribed and authorized on a continuing and timely basis
    • Provide clinical briefing to patients and their families, the details of treatment, possible side effects, numbers of days the patient will be on radiotherapy and other necessary adjustment.
    • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines procedures and standards to prevent undue exposure to radiation;
    • Ensure patients are positioned properly for radiation;
    • Effective interpersonal relationships will be maintained with staff and patients and families.
    • Report Problems and complaints to the Radiologist and ensure they are handled sensitively and expediently.
    • Vetting of incoming diagnostic referrals for appropriateness using recognized access criteria and suggestion of alternative imaging where relevant.

    Requirements

    • Must have a good First Degree in Medical Radiography
    • Must have 2 - 4 years practicing experience
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
    • Positive attitude and good work ethics
    • Computer literacy and working knowledge of the Diagnostics’ Centre’s software.

    Radiologist

    Job Overview and Duties

    • To provide overall radiology services
    • Cooperate with patients to offer them psychological support and address their concerns regarding an imaging procedure.
    • To supervise all radiology examinations and radiographers by always ensuring smooth operation of the radiology department.
    • Liaise with other radiologists to ensure that the department is covered at all times.
    • To device protocols in areas such as drug reaction, resuscitation, emergencies, and infection control.
    • Ensure suitable use and maintenance of all radiology modalities at the facility.
    • Ensure qualitative interpretations of investigations by sharing and discussing with colleagues when necessary.
    • Oversee radiopaque substances by injection, orally, or as enemas to render internal structures and organs visible on X-ray films or fluoroscopic screens.
    • Direct and supervise the activities of the radiography technician.
    • Maintaining and ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information.
    • Participate in continuing education activities to maintain and develop expertise as required by MDCAN and keep proper and updated registration with MDCN and NMA
    • Facilitate access to imaging and provide timely reporting that facilitates efficient patient flows and meets treatment objectives
    • Patients will be given a full explanation of all procedures and treatments.
    • Informed consent will be obtained from all patients before undertaking any test or procedures in accordance with the Organization’s policy
    • Be available to cover their colleagues when they are sick or on leave (within the constraints of their existing workloads). Such additional hours shall be worked and remunerated as mutually agreed.
    • Contribute to management and other service activities including quality initiatives, complaint investigations, reviews, service planning and clinical advice.

    Requirements

    • MBBS / MBChB / FMCR qualification
    • NYSC Discharge or exemption Certificate
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Must be licensed by the Radiographer registration board of Nigeria (RRBN);
    • A Radiographer with Diagnostic experience
    • Valid and current practicing license from MDCN
    • Computer Literacy Extensive experience in X-Ray, Ultrasound, MRI, and Mammography.
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in X-ray, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography and other Radiology procedures
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
    • Good observation skills.

    Nursing Officer

    Job Overview and Duties

    • Prepare patients for physical examinations, observations, urinalysis, procedures, treatment and pre-employment screenings.
    • Orchestrate various procedures such as wound dressing, incision and draining, injection administration, vaccinations, ear piercing, ear syringing, pap smear collection, urine sample collection, high vaginal swap and suture removal.
    • Administer patients’ health checklist(s).
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients’ medical history, vital signs conducted procedures.
    • Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions while under observation.
    • Engage patients for obtaining data on their circumstances in relation to diets and lifestyle for Doctors’ information.
    • Identify accurately potential health risks confronting the patient for Doctors’ information.
    • Assist Doctors’ in suturing procedures and to set up lines for patients under observation.
    • Observe admitted patients while ensuring frequent checks of vital signs as required by standard nursing practice and administering medications to patients in line with Doctor’s prescription.
    • Distribute as required, issued medical brochures and relevant medical information to ensure patients are well informed about topics such as childbirth, disease prevention and sexual health.
    • Co-operatively work with colleagues to maintain a professional learning culture.
    • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments before and after use.
    • Deliver patient files to the senior nursing officer, especially for patients to be taken under observation.
    • Flexibly work in all units within the department and/or clinic such as screening section, wellness clinic, specialist clinics, travel clinic, general practice, documentation and pharmacy.
    • Liaise with the accounts team in order to receive funding for supplies needed.
    • Raise requisition for required consumables
    • Other tasks as may be assigned.

    Requirements

    • NYSC Discharge or exemption Certificate
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with additional qualification or any other relevant training
    • A minimum of 5 years post NYSC/qualification experience covering different aspects of nursing.
