    Finance Officer

    Location: Bakori LGA, Katsina

    About the Project

    • This project,“Strengthening Community Resilience against Extremism and Violent Extremism through Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Women and Youth Associated with Violent Extremism,”will be implemented in Bakori Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria.
    • It aims to address the multifaceted challenges posed by armed groups, including bandits and the Lakurawa insurgents, which have severely impacted local communities through violence, displacement, and disruption of livelihoods.
    • The initiative focuses on rehabilitating and reintegrating women and youth affected by or associated with violent extremism, while simultaneously strengthening the resilience of the broader community. A key component of the intervention is to provide mental health and psychosocial support to affected individuals and communities to enhance their resilience and well-being.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and oversee all financial transactions of the project, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with organizational and donor policies.
    • Prepare and maintain financial records, including budgets, expense reports, and cash flow statements.
    • Monitor project expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and timely processing of payments.
    • Coordinate with project staff and partners on financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
    • Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management and donors.
    • Support the annual auditing process and implement audit recommendations.
    • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard project funds and assets.
    • Assist with procurement processes in compliance with organizational policies.
    • Provide financial guidance and training to project staff as needed.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the development or humanitarian sector.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, donor financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
    • Proficiency in financial management software and MS Office applications.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
    • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Experience working in Nigeria or similar contexts is an advantage.

    Project Manager

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Security Studies, or related fields. A master’s degree is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in conflict-affected or fragile settings, preferably in Nigeria or West Africa.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of security challenges in Northwest Nigeria, including experience working with communities affected by armed groups.
    • Strong skills in stakeholder coordination, community engagement, and partnership building.
    • Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multi-sectoral teams effectively.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with monitoring and evaluation frameworks and reporting to donors.
    • Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages (Hausa) is an added advantage.

    MEAL Officer

    • Ensure accountability mechanisms are in place, including beneficiary feedback and complaints systems.
    • Prepare timely and accurate MEAL reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors.
    • Train project staff and partners on MEAL processes and best practices.
    • Support risk management by identifying potential challenges and recommending corrective actions.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, or related fields.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in MEAL roles, preferably in conflict-affected or fragile contexts.
    • Strong knowledge of MEAL frameworks, data collection methods, and analysis tools.
    • Experience working with security and community resilience projects is an advantage.
    • Proficiency in using data management software and MS Office applications.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    • Establish, manage, and maintain a robust FCRM system that enables beneficiaries and community members to provide feedback, raise concerns, and lodge complaints safely and confidentially.
    • Promote awareness and accessibility of the FCRM among project beneficiaries, local communities, and stakeholders.
    • Receive, document, and track all feedback and complaints in a timely and organized manner.
    • Ensure timely, respectful, and appropriate responses to feedback and complaints in line with organizational policies and protection principles.
    • Analyze feedback trends to identify systemic issues and recommend improvements to project implementation.
    • Collaborate closely with project teams, community leaders, and partners to resolve issues raised through the FCRM effectively.
    • Conduct training and capacity-building sessions for project staff and partners on FCRM procedures and ethical handling of complaints.
    • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard the rights and dignity of all complainants and feedback providers.
    • Prepare regular reports on FCRM activities, including statistics, case studies, and lessons learned for management and donors.
    • Support the integration of protection and gender-sensitive approaches within the FCRM.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Human Rights, Community Development, or related fields.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience managing feedback and complaints mechanisms, preferably in humanitarian, development, or conflict-affected settings.
    • Strong understanding of accountability to affected populations (AAP) principles and protection standards.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
    • Experience working with diverse communities, including vulnerable and marginalized groups.
    • Proficient in MS Office and data management tools.
    • Fluency in English; knowledge of Hausa or other local languages is an advantage.
