Finance Officer - Apache Fineract Consultant at AjoCard Limited

• We are looking for a Finance Officer to Join our team.
• The Finance Officer will support finance operations and ensure accurate financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance within a microfinance banking environment.
• The role also requires hands-on involvement in configuring and supporting finance setup on Apache Fineract, including COA mapping, GL postings, and product accounting rules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations
• Post journals and review system-generated postings
• Support month-end closing activities
• Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions
• Assist in audit preparation and financial control compliance

Fineract Setup & Support

• Configure Chart of Accounts and GL mapping in Fineract
• Support loan and savings product setup and accounting rules
• Ensure accurate transaction posting flow between operations and finance
• Generate finance and portfolio reports from Fineract
• Troubleshoot posting issues and work with tech/ops teams for resolution

Reporting & Compliance

• Support management reporting and analysis
• Assist in regulatory reporting where applicable
• Ensure compliance with MFB finance policies and controls

Qualifications

• BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• 3–6 years relevant finance experience
• Prior work experience in an MFB is mandatory
• Proven experience working with Apache Fineract is mandatory

Skill and Competence

• Strong accounting knowledge and microfinance reporting understanding
• Good analytical and reconciliation skills
• Strong Excel and reporting skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
• Ability to collaborate with operations and technology teams
