    Driver (Project Support)

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno
    Employment Type: Contract

    Job Summary

    • To provide support to sound administrative, office, and logistics support to the Maiduguri office in line with the policies of GREENCODE.
    • The role will contribute to effective office management including support to warehouse management, inventory/asset management, line managing GREENCODE drivers, coordinating all land travels, and supervision of janitorial services.
    • The incumbent will employ the use of general office practices and administrative procedures to carry out assigned tasks.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Safe, efficient, timely and well-coordinated transportation of staff and designated people to all areas as instructed.
    • Safe, efficient and timely transportation of goods to required points as directed
    • Ensure that GREENCODE assets are safeguarded in the vehicle at all the time
    • Maintain an updated vehicle log book that keeps track of vehicle usage
    • Provide timely and efficient execution of office errands for the smooth operation of project communications and logistics
    • Maintain, in all circumstances the highest level of conduct on the road as well as drive with due care at all times and with consideration for other road users and pedestrians.
    • Ensure a well-maintained (and clean) vehicle to avoid breakdowns and ensure the comfort of the passengers
    • Ensure that the vehicle is well equipped with a valid first aid kit, working safety belts, fire extinguisher, valid local licenses and inspection certificates, etc.
    • Refuel the vehicle using an approved fuel voucher/fuel card and keep an updated vehicle log sheet
    • Ensure that the vehicle is safely parked at the designated place at the end of each working day not later than 6 pm
    • Immediate reporting of accidents involving GREENCODE vehicles to the immediate supervisor
    • Comply with transport and other corporate policies to ensure efficiency and harmony with other departments/government.
    • Maintain valid driving license and produce when required
    • Promotes and abides by GREENCODE policies and procedures including but not limited to: Travel, Security and Safety policy, safe guarding and protection Policy; Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.
    • And perform any other task assigned.

    Position Requirements

    • Proven experience working in similar role with knowledge of road network
    • 2 - 5 years work experience.
    • Driving Trade Test Certificate, SSCE or OND certificate
    • Good knowledge of traffic signs.
    • Good technical skills in vehicle management
    • Ability to work in a team.

    FSL / WASH Officer

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno

    Job Summary

    • Lead and manage the team and its partners towards the efficient and effective delivery of agreed outputs, outcomes and impacts ensuring full donor satisfaction for the projects.

    Major Responsibilities
    Project Management:

    • Responsible for day-to-day implementation of all FSL/WASH activities including adherence to work plan, management of program staff, meeting program objectives, and monitoring program activities.
    • Provide technical advice and overall supervision of contractors and vendors throughout the implementation of WASH/FSL activities, including registration of beneficiaries, distribution and monitoring.
    • Ensure beneficiaries are tracked for various activities and appropriate documentation/ information on beneficiaries is collected and recorded.
    • Participate in analyses of needs at the community level, assess resources available for addressing the needs of vulnerable households, and suggest innovative approaches for filling gaps in programming.
    • Ensure that beneficiaries are adequately communicated about project activities and plans, including distribution date and conditions required for verification.
    • Work towards the achievement of overall goals through effective supervision of WASH-related activities including the development of IEC materials, community awareness and advocacy, and follow-up meetings to ensure adherence to WASH requirements.
    • Responsible for the interpretation of WASH bill of quantities and borehole designs.
    • Ensure appropriate community inclusion of persons with disabilities and delivery of essential WASH/FSL services to beneficiaries.
    • Ensure proper coordination with community and local authorities to influence positive acceptance of GREENCODE in project locations.
    • Capacity building of field staff to ensure effective monitoring and quality of program deliverables.

    Position Requirements

    • University Degree in a relevant field
    • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in the same role or related role in the humanitarian or development sector in NGO or INNGO
    • Experience in coaching, training, and facilitation
    • Demonstrated track record of proposal writing and project implementation
    • Experience in managing teams
    • Experience with key donor-funded and grant principles.

    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno
    Employment Type: Contract

    Job Summary

    • Under the supervision of the National Coordinator, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer shall be responsible for the overall collection, summarizing, compiling, dissemination, storing and timely reporting of all forms data generated from the Project with a key focus on submission of timely, qualitative and quantitative reports to the Program Management Team, donors and relevant stakeholders.

    Major Responsibilities
    Monitoring Evaluation Accountability & Learning:

    • Track the project performances vs. project indicators
    • Create and manage databases to ensure the traceability of the project beneficiaries and assistance provided
    • Conduct a baseline/end line survey at the start and end of the project.
    • Lead in beneficiary identification, selection and registration.
    • Regularly conduct on-site monitoring and post-distribution surveys
    • Carryout rapid need (including market) assessments for the project activity
    • Regularly collect and analyze market price data.
    • Review, clean and analyze all project data, including but not limited to: beneficiary registration, baseline study, onsite monitoring, post-activity monitoring, price data, and final evaluation.
    • Work with project officers for data collection for GREENCODE implementing projects
    • Provide feedback to the National Coordinator and project team on project strategies and activities;
    • Assist in coordinating across the available components of the Project to ensure effective implementation of M&E/MIS;
    • Assist the project personnel with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use.
    • Preparation of monthly report
    • And performed any other task as assigned.

    Position Requirements

    • Have a Degree / HND in Social Science, Art, Humanities, or related field with minimum of 1 year experience in a project management, stakeholders’ relations and administration-related role.
    • Have excellent computer skills including with Excel, Microsoft office.
    • Have strong interpersonal skills (communication, give effective feedback and be a team player)
    • Be able to manage stress effectively, juggle competing priorities, balance various programmatic, logistics and team needs.
    • Have the ability to manage work plans including ability to work under pressure.
    • Be committed to the NGO’s mission, values and policies.
    • At least 2-years experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, preferably in the NGO or INNGO sector
    • Thorough technical knowledge and experience in MEAL.

    GBV / MPHSS Officer

    Location: Maidugur, Borno

    Job Summary

    • The GBV/MPHSS Officer will provide technical support and leadership required for the successful implementation of CBM project and will support in awareness raising activities, including the provision of information on available GBV and SRH services and facilitating referrals.
    • The GBV/MPHSS officer will be responsible for providing training and mentoring to community volunteers in referring cases of GBV.

    Major Responibilities

    • Oversee case management including follow-up on referrals and action plans, and support services provided to GBV survivors, ensuring that the survivors receive the minimum package
    • Work closely with the team to Initiate planning for longer-term GBV prevention and response activities, including referral pathways and standard operating procedures
    • Maintain, monitor and measure GBV project implementation and contribute to effective information management on GBV survivors, adhering to the national guidance on case management of survivors and the SOPs
    • Closely work with case workers, outreach workers etc to ensure that best practices are respected and international standards are met in responding and preventing GBV
    • Provide technical oversight and capacity-building through training, mentorship and on-the-job support for case workers, community volunteers, and adolescent peer groups on GBV and SRH awareness-raising and referrals.
    • Strengthen and maintain networks with community leaders and groups and service providers to ensure that survivors receive compassionate support from the community and to encourage greater communication, collaboration and coordination among partners.
    • Input into referral pathways to ensure a community perspective is included. Ensure referral pathways are shared and understood within the community.
    • Supervise and lead the implementation of activities at the community psychosocial centers including the setting up of information and help desk
    • Participate in the development of monthly outreach plans with case workers and community volunteers, based on case trends and ongoing needs of women and girls, including strategies to reach women and girls who are more isolated/have special needs.
    • Provide leadership and guidance regarding GBV and SRH activities to all Case Workers to ensure all program activities meet best practice standards as well as taking lead in male discussion sessions in Engaging Men through Accountable Practice.
    • Assist with developing adequate project monitoring systems and help to ensure that Case Workers utilize these systems correctly and consistently and provide support where needed
    • Ensure the implementation of an effective referral system at the interagency and community level to ensure survivors can access quality case management services in a timely manner.
    • Lead case management of Gender Based Violence Cases and ensure proper documentation, assessment, case plan implementation, follow-up and information management of all GBV cases.
    • Submit monthly report
    • And perform any other task as assigned.

    Position Requirements

    • Degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health, or Nursing required.
    • Proven experience in similar functions desirable.
    • Experience in GBVIMS and case management
    • Two years and above experience in a similar position or related
    • Flexible and willing to work in rural communities especially field based
    • Attended training on GBV and is aware of protection issues.
    • Supervisory experience.
    • Fluency in English, additional fluency in Hausa and Kanuri an advantage.

    Project Finance Officer

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno

    Job Summary

    • Provide support under the responsibility of the Senior Finance Officer in ensuring that all accounting procedures for documentation of transactions of Funds Receipt and Disbursement are observed and financial processes and reports are in line with policies of GREENCODE.
    • To contribute to the provision of regular and detailed financial analysis report to inform management decisions.

    Major Responsibilities
    Accounting Software operations and Reporting:

    • Prepare payment, journal and receipt vouchers using the corporate accounting software – QUICKBOOK.
    • Ensure that transactions are complete and accurate with self-explanatory and understandable descriptions.
    • Maintain good filing for all vouchers in a limited access area to ensure easy retrieval.
    • Support in ensuring all documents are scanned and properly stored in GREENCODE database
    • Maintain a record of vouchers borrowed by staff and ensure that they are returned and filed appropriately.
    • Following up with project staff as regards the dashboard financial deadline requirements
    • Print the monthly reports for signing and appropriate filing.
    • Support program staff in making payments to participants during activities implementation.
    • Undertake basic financial analysis (i.e., budget variance) to support project information needs.
    • Working with the Project Officer, Senior Finance Officer in the development of forecasts for projects.
    • Ensure proper filing (electronic and hard copy) of grant financial reports are kept secure in the Maiduguri Office
    • Monitor budget expenditures and maintain a proper record of approved project budgets and their revisions.

    Internal Financial Controls & Payments:

    • Ensure that the documentation for payment is acceptable and accurate with all arithmetic calculations being correct.
    • Approved payment requests should be processed within three days of receipt.
    • Prepare the Withholding tax and VAT schedule where relevant before payment is done.
    • Cancel (stamped PAID) all vouchers (payment, journal, and receipt) and their supporting documents to forestall reuse.
    • Ensure all cheques are prepared in a way that ensures accuracy and validation for payments
    • Issue cheques as per the weekly payment list. Exceptions should be approved by National Coordinator.
    • Maintain cash books, including providing updates to Senior Finance Officer to prevent negative cash and bank balance.
    • Release cheques to the right payee and ensure the appropriate receipts are issued and filed. Perform any other duties as specified by your supervisor(s).

    Assist in the Administration of Staff Payroll:

    • Prepare the withholding tax deductions report, and complete and submit monthly Statutory PAYE forms to relevant Government Organizations.
    • Assist in the posting of all prepaid staff benefits on Quickbook.

    Position Requirements

    • University Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Banking and Finance
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in accounting related to NGOs and community-level programs, with increasing responsibility.
    • Experience with large complex organizations is required, familiarity with international NGOs preferred
    • Certification with ANAN, ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage.
