    Case Area Environmental Disinfector

    Locations: Yola North, Yola South, Fufori - Adamawa

    Duty Description

    • Under the direct supervision of the WASH Officer/ Hygiene Promotion Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and executing various disease tracking and surveillance activities in the field. Their primary role is to support the overall objective of preventing and controlling the spread of Acute Watery Diarrhea

    Job Description

    • Responsible for identifying new AWD cases in the community by conducting house-to-house visits, collecting symptomatic reports, and collaborating with community health workers and local healthcare providers by helping to identify potential outbreak clusters and high-risk areas
    • The CED will be responsible for disinfecting the identified AWD case location and other part of the community to prevent disease distribution.
    • Ensure the daily cleaning of latrines, disinfection of gutters and water-logged areas
    • Ensure environmental clean-up exercises are carried out always
    • Ensure daily Cleaning of latrines and environmental sanitation.
    • Work as a bridging gap between LPF and communities.
    • Ensure that the properties in the place of work are respected and that no damage is caused to them.
    • Sustain regular participation and decent behaviour towards beneficiaries or LPF staff as failure in this respect can automatically result in the termination of service.
    • Adhere to implementation standards, LPF ways of working, and the terms of the LPF Code of Conduct; including the commitment to zero tolerance on SEA and the obligation to report SEA cases.
    • He / She must not use their position of being engaged in LPF work to gain favours or material advantage.

    Experience, Skills and Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2 years for SSCE holders and Post SSCE Certificate, and 1 Year for ND, NCE, Degree Holders

    Water Operator and Chlorinator

    Locations: Yola North, Yola South and Fufori - Adamawa

    Duty Description

    • Under the direct supervision of the WASH Assistant/WASH Supervisor, the successful candidate will oversee all aspects of water system operation, maintenance and monitoring.
    • Assist in repair, testing and dosing of water facilities daily, clearing of scrubs around water facility, monitor FRC level of water daily.

    Job Description

    • Ensure daily chlorination of water and follow up with FRC Monitors to test the water Quality
    • Ensure daily disinfection of water points
    • Cleaning Solar-powered systems and the water facility environment.
    • Protect equipment and facilities from corrosion.
    • Monitor pump motors to detect unusual noises, vibrations or excessive heat.
    • Safely handle, store and utilise treatment chemicals, and keep records of activities undertaken
    • Responsible to do a follow-up on all WASH facilities under his/her care.
    • Responsible for ensuring that water is supplied to beneficiaries at the right time. Also, take care of the solar modules, this includes cleaning the panels, and ensuring that all connections are safe and secure.

    Community Hygiene Promoter

    Duty Description

    • Under the supervision of the Hygiene Promotion Assistant/ WASH supervisor, the successful candidate will conduct hygiene promotion sessions focusing on proper hand washing, safe excreta disposal, safe household water management, latrine usage and other key hygiene messages through House-to-House visits, Focus Group Discussions/community meetings, targeting community Leaderships/Local Champions (Community Leaders, Women Leaders, religious leaders, elders etc.) to promote good hygiene practices, discourage bad practices, and Risk Communication (RCCE).
    • Support WASH Committees in conducting disinfection campaigns, and collect demographic data on the guidance of the hygiene promotion assistant/WASH Supervisor.

    Job Description

    • Contribute to targeting beneficiaries, promoting effective use of latrines and safe water, following up on hygiene kits, and Supporting the WASH team during the Distribution of hygiene and summarization kits.
    • Conduct hygiene promotion messages through house-to-house Visiting, individual or group level; organize community meetings, and conduct mass mobilization events.
    • Conduct child-to-child hygiene promotion activities through dramas, songs, and other interactive methods by using IEC material, and Distribution and locating of IEC materials
    • Follow-up visits to ensure participation of all class of the population, especially vulnerable/disabled groups to ensure participation gaps are bridged between the Community and LPF.
    • Maintain a record of hygiene sessions and beneficiary records targeted through hygiene promotion activities on prescribed templates by LPF on a daily basis.
    • Conduct focus group discussions and update the WASH/Health Promotion (HP) Assistant and WASH/Health Promotion (HP) Officer on findings, challenges, and lessons learned at the field level.
    • Follow-up with the water management committee, latrine cleaning committee, women’s association (as per situation), child group, and other stakeholders to accomplish public health promotion objectives.
    • Carry out mass Public Health Promotion campaigns (environmental cleaning, jerrycan cleaning, vector control, NFI demonstration) whenever required.
    • Participate in the implementation of the mentioned activity with conformity to the agreed standards.

    WASH Programme Supervisor

    Locations: Yola North, Yola South and Fufori, Adamawa

    Duty Description

    • Under the direct supervision of the WASH Assistant/WASH Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily technical planning, supervision, monitoring and reporting of the field activities and for ensuring proper coordination with community Stakeholder.
    • The WASH Programme Supervisor will supervise and monitor the WASH activity implemented in the Dikwa, providing support to the field team in terms of coordination and support.
    • Deal with the local authorities, and other stakeholder in keeping a good relationship and a constant and positive exchange of information about the LPF projects.

    Job Description

    • Support the Head of Project to define the work plan and support the field staff for its implementation.
    • Monitor the implementation of all project activities, including distribution of equipment, water distribution and desludging.
    • Coordinate with the field team, the municipality focal point and the Head of Project
    • Support the development and maintenance of external relations particularly with beneficiaries, municipality staff, donors and other NGOs.
    • Be aware of the security for the staff, LPF premises and equipment, and report any relevant incidents to the Head of Project. Be prepared to adjust project implementation to mitigate security risks when required.
    • Supervise the staff under his/her supervision to ensure they are working effectively and to the best of their capacity
    • Participate in staff training, helping to build technical capacity of staff and volunteers in the area of WASH
    • Report the progress of the work to the Head of Project
    • Report possible problem or conflict during the activities.
    • Report the use of materials and possible improvement.
    • Data collection regarding the project and the potentials beneficiaries
    • Participate in conducting assessments, in surveys and monitoring of the project as and when requested.
    • Participate to the distribution of water and sanitation items if requested by the Head of Project
    • Support the field teams during construction and other activities;
    • Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, make sure that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.     AWD Surveillance Task Force Field Worker

Their primary role is to support the overall objective of preventing and controlling the spread of Acute Watery Diarrhea.

    Job Description

    • Responsible for identifying new AWD cases in the community by conducting house-to-house visits, collecting symptomatic reports, and collaborating with community health workers and local healthcare providers.
    • The AWD STF field worker will be tasked with accurately mapping the locations of identified AWD cases using GPS technology or other geo-referencing tools. This information will be used to create visual representations of disease distribution, helping to identify potential outbreak clusters and high-risk areas.
    • The AWD STF field worker will play a vital role in confirming and verifying AWD cases by collecting relevant information, such as patient demographics, symptoms, and medical history. They will also ensure that case data is recorded and reported accurately and promptly.
    • The AWD STF field worker will be responsible for facilitating the referral of severe AWD cases to appropriate healthcare facilities for treatment and management. This involves maintaining communication channels with healthcare providers, ensuring timely referrals, and monitoring the progress of referred cases.
    • The AWD STF field worker will contribute to the implementation of KAP surveys related to AWD prevention and control. This includes conducting surveys in the community and collecting and managing survey data.
    • The AWD STF field worker will maintain accurate records of their activities and contribute to the generation of regular progress reports. They will also ensure that all collected data is properly stored, managed, and secured following established protocols and guidelines
