    Associate, Transformers Program

    Job Summary:

    • We seek an innovative, analytical-minded, and results-driven Program Associate who is passionate about designing and implementing transformative business programs, supporting high-growth enterprises through tailored strategic initiatives, and enabling businesses to achieve sustainable growth.
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the effective implementation and delivery of FATE Foundation’s Transformer Programs and Projects in alignment with the FATE School's strategic direction and focus areas.
    • The FATE School: The FATE School was created to harness the strong entrepreneurial culture of Nigerians by providing aspiring entrepreneurs with business incubation, growth, and accelerator support required to fully explore entrepreneurs’ innovative potential to start, grow, and scale their businesses.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Ensure the successful implementation and delivery of the Transformer Programme, as well as track the participants’ application of knowledge to their business and develop short to mid-term strategic growth plans for a competitive and sustainable business.
    • Liaise with the Senior Programs Manager and Head, ScaleUp Lab to develop, review, update, and implement a robust program proposal, program curriculum, training plan, schedule, and modules to offer a holistic program that reflects the current best practices in entrepreneurship.
    • Design and implement support initiatives tailored to the specific needs of participating businesses, co-creating individualized action plans, customized support, and resources to address the unique challenges and growth opportunities for each business in the program.
    • Coordinate all program work and activities with relevant internal stakeholders and provide support to program facilitators, faculty members, and industry experts to improve the quality, scope, and delivery of the transformer programs. `
    • Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources to maximize impact and support high-growth businesses effectively.
    • Evaluate the transformer program participants by administering a survey during and after the program to determine the progress and success of the program.
    • Provide tailored support to high-growth businesses, addressing their specific needs and challenges.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience engaging directors and senior executives who are major equity stakeholders in medium-sized companies.
    • A good understanding of the Nigerian entrepreneurial ecosystem.
    • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining a focus on the quality of program delivery.
    • Ability to present clear, concise and professionally written communications and presentations.
    • Excellent competency in planning and project management skills.
    • Strong proficiency with data analysis tools and Microsoft Office packages.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
    • A positive, energetic, and ambitious attitude to work
    • A bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
    • A professional certification in ICAN, PMP or related discipline will be an added advantage.

    Finance Associate

    Job Summary:

    • We seek an analytical and detail-oriented Finance Associate who is enthusiastic about researching, forecasting, and analyzing financial trends, providing vital insights that enable businesses to make informed decisions.
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing required and valuable support in analyzing the financial functions and services with accuracy, as well as providing appropriate solutions to achieve the financial goals and objectives of FATE Foundation.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for FATE Foundation’s financial operations as well as for general compliance.
    • Deliver adequate plans and reporting of the internal control and risk management framework as well as report risk management issues and ensure that internal control deficiencies are identified and escalated appropriately to the Finance and Investments Manager.
    • Ensure the processing and proper management of petty cash operations by preparing periodic reports and ensuring that guidelines are fully implemented
    • Carry out all financial reporting, which includes but is not limited to bank reconciliations and the posting of expenditures, as well as ensure that all accounts, including cash, checks, and online transfers, are effectively filed for audit purposes.
    • Manage and ensure reconciliation of budgets and expenses for events and projects as required.
    • Assist with management and board financial reports, as well as generate, explain, and present relevant schedules or computations to support the treatment of transaction postings.
    • Oversee and review the preparation of budgets and accounts to facilitate better planning and decision-making.
    • Manage, track, and update the financial record system as well as recommend remedial procedures for better efficacy.
    • Carry out financial audits and the implementation of management letters.
    • Collate all submitted budgets and planned expenditure to the Finance Manager and ensure disbursement of funds is in line with the approved budget.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • 3 - 5 years’ work experience in the financial services or consulting sector.
    • Possess sound knowledge of financial accounting procedures and practices.
    • In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation, and book-keeping.
    • Good understanding of local and international accounting standards and practices (GAAP, IFRS etc.).
    • Strong technical know-how and understanding of accounting and internal controls.
    • Excellent knowledge of the relevant IFRS and IAS.
    • Strong proficiencies in Microsoft office suite and QuickBooks.
    • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidential and complex information.
    • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
    • Interpersonal and networking skills.
    • Ability to develop innovative ideas.
    • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline, from an accredited university.
    • A master’s degree in Accounting, Auditing or Finance will be an added advantage.
    • Professional certification in finance or accounting from a recognized professional body (e.g., CFA, ACCA, ICAN, etc.).
    • Very strong interest and passion for the non-profit or development sector.

    StartUps & Youth Enterprise (SYE) Intern

    Job Summary:

    • We seek a smart, analytical, and results-driven StartUps & Youth Enterprise (SYE) Intern who is enthusiastic about supporting the design and delivery of innovative programs.
    • The ideal candidate will support the design and delivery of programs for the StartUps & Youth Enterprise (SYE) department of the FATE School of Entrepreneurship.
    • The FATE School: The FATE School was created to harness the strong entrepreneurial culture of Nigerians by providing aspiring entrepreneurs with business incubation, growth, and accelerator support required to fully explore entrepreneurs’ innovative potential to start, grow, and scale their businesses.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Assist with the design and development of the program curriculum, training plan, modules, and agenda for SYE Programs.
    • Assist with the necessary research and analysis to conduct needs assessment of start-up businesses, which will be applied to the curriculum development/redesign and marketing strategies.
    • Assist monitoring the implementation of the agreed work plan for each program.
    • Assist to ensure that all relevant administrative and secretarial requirements for programs assigned are available.
    • Assist in communicating and following up with prospective FATE School program participants and volunteers as required.
    • Communicate with and follow up on prospective SYE program participants to ensure that they are provided with timely information and updated as required.
    • Provide administrative support during program sessions, ensuring that the facilities, materials, and other logistic requirements are taken into account.
    • Follow through to ensure the successful implementation of all programs that are assigned.
    • Proactively communicate progress report on all tasks and responsibilities assigned and escalate issues beyond own capacity to the Programs Manager and Head, StartUps & Youths Enterprise.
    • Support in the achievement of the overall unit’s goal and work plan.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Minimum of 1-2 years relevant work experience.
    • Good planning and organization skills.
    • Ability to use the Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with social marketing platforms particularly Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
    • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Very strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
    • Good database management and reporting skills.
    • Ability to engage effectively with various levels of management and collaborate with team members with the utmost respect.
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively and proactively to provide feedback.
    • A bachelor’s degree in social science or relevant field from an accredited university.
    • Interest and passion for the non-profit or development sector.
