Role Objective

• Characterizing DWDM transmission with high speed optical transponders in long-haul and metro optical networks.

Responsibilities

• Must have good hands-on working experience on the following NOKIA/Alcatel Lucent Devices: 1830 PSS16, 32, 36, 63, 24-X and 1621 SLE.
• Responsible for Management of Alcatel Lucent Photonic Service Switch (1830PSS-16/32/64) Nodes using the Network Management System.
• Responsible for Software upgrade and Acceptance Tests for Alcatel 1830PSS nodes.
• Planning and execution of DWDM transmission tests.

Qualifications
Academic Qualification:

• Minimum Master's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or Physics.

Experience:

• Experience working with standards identifying how solutions work in a multivendor environment.
• Qualified experience working with Alcatel-Lucent or other vendor DWDM products.
• Knowledge on the usage and requirements of test equipment and the ability to manipulate them as required.

Responsibilities

• Huawei U200/NCE Node integration, operations and management.
• Level 2 Huawei IP/MPLS network administration.
• Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
• Configuring routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
• Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Arrange scheduled upgrades of Network Elements.
• Investigating faults in the network.
• Updating network equipment to latest firmware releases.
• Reporting network status to stakeholders.

Qualifications
Academic Qualification:

• Minimum Master's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or Physics.

Experience:

• 4 years in operations for service provider/telecom type of environment.
• Experience with Huawei switching and Routing.
• Experience in Monitoring tools like PRTG, U2000, Huawei NC.
• Experience with Network audit reporting tools.

Required Skills:

• Must have excellent critical thinking, communications, and interpersonal skills as well.
• Desired understanding of telecom equipments.
• Experienced in resolving technical (hardware, software, and communications) malfunctions.
• Ability to get root cause analysis in case of problems and the ability recreate problems in lab environment when requested.
• Must be experienced in scheduling and executing various planned hardware/software changes.
