Role Overview 

Nairametrics is looking to hire a competent Accountant to oversee financial record keeping, support financial reporting, and ensure that the organization’s financial activities are accurately documented and compliant with applicable regulations. This role reports directly to the Finance Lead. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure proper documentation of all accounting activities. 
• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions in the company’s accounting system. 
• Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports and management accounts. 
• Monitor company income, expenses, and outstanding liabilities. 
• Prepare and process staff payroll in line with company policies. 
• Support the preparation and monitoring of organizational budgets. 
• Ensure that statutory payments such as taxes and regulatory filings are completed in a timely manner. 
• Assist with internal and external audit processes when required. 
• Review financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure corrections are made. 
• Maintain and update financial databases, ledgers, and records. 
• Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities. 
• Work with Finance Lead to provide financial information needed for operational decisions. 

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ACA (or progress towards certification) will be an advantage. 
• Minimum of 3–5 years experience in an accounting role. 
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. 
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills. 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
