University Librarian at Borno State University

Job Description

• The University Librarian shall be a Principal Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University Library and all other libraries in the University.

Qualities of the Applicant for the Post
Applicants for the post must possess the following:

• A good First Degree in any subject plus Ph.D Degree in Library Science and Information from a recognized Institution,
• At least fifteen (15) years working experience, ten (10) of which must be in a University.
• A strong evidence of contribution to Library and Information Sciences through research and publications in reputable journals,
• A good knowledge of ICT will be an added advantage.

Tenure

• The successful candidate shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years only beginning from effective date of appointment.

Conditons of Service
The Successful candidate for the post of a University Librarian shall be placed on consolidated salary of the University Librarian and will be entitled to the privileges of Principal Officer of the University.
