• Business Research and Development (R&D) Team Lead is responsible for driving the strategic growth of the organization by overseeing the identification, research, and development of new business opportunities, markets, and products. For this you will be combining leadership, analytical thinking, and project management skills to ensure innovation aligns with the company's goals. For this position you must possess a deep understanding of market dynamics, emerging trends, and competitive positioning, with the ability to translate insights into actionable business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

• Lead and manage the Business R&D team, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategy.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of curiosity, innovation, and high performance.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Product Development, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.

Strategic Research & Analysis

• Conduct comprehensive market research, including competitor analysis, market sizing, trend forecasting, and customer behavior insights.
• Identify and evaluate potential markets, technologies, and business models for growth.
• Oversee feasibility studies, SWOT analyses, and risk assessments to support decision-making.

Innovation & Development

• Generate and evaluate new business ideas, concepts, and partnerships.
• Lead pilot projects and prototypes, working closely with technical and product teams to validate concepts.
• Maintain a pipeline of potential development initiatives and oversee their progression through research and assessment stages.

Project & Portfolio Management

• Plan, execute, and monitor research and development projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocations for R&D initiatives.
• Report progress and findings to senior management with data-driven presentations and documentation.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including universities, research institutions, startups, and consultants.
• Present research findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and innovation forums.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Market Research.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in business research, strategy, or innovation roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
• Proven track record of managing research projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience in strategic planning, market analysis, and new product/business development.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with research tools and platforms (e.g., market databases, data visualization tools, statistical software).
• Project management proficiency with tools such as Trello, Asana, or Microsoft Project.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
