    Management Trainee Program (Consumer Lending)

    The Consumer Lending Management Trainee Program is designed to develop high-potential graduates into future leaders in retail and consumer lending. Trainees will gain hands-on experience across key lending functions including loan origination, credit analysis, risk management, collections, sales, and customer experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lending & Credit Operations

    • Support the end-to-end consumer loan process: sourcing, appraisal, approval, disbursement, and monitoring
    • Assist in evaluating customer creditworthiness using income analysis, credit bureau reports, and risk scoring tools
    • Prepare and review loan documentation in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements

    Sales & Relationship Management

    • Support consumer loan sales initiatives across products such as personal loans, salary loans, auto loans, and digital lending products
    • Engage customers to understand financing needs and recommend appropriate lending solutions
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

    Risk & Compliance

    • Ensure adherence to credit policies, lending limits, and regulatory guidelines
    • Assist in monitoring portfolio performance, delinquency trends, and early warning signals
    • Support loan recovery and collections activities where required

    Data, Reporting & Analysis

    • Analyze loan performance data and prepare management reports
    • Track key lending KPIs including approval rates, portfolio growth, and non-performing loans
    • Support process improvement initiatives through data-driven insights

    Learning & Development

    • Participate in structured classroom training, on-the-job learning, and mentorship programs
    • Complete periodic assessments and project assignments
    • Rotate across consumer lending units and branches as assigned

    Key Requirements

    Educational Qualification

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking, or related fields
    • Minimum of Second Class Upper (or equivalent)

    Experience

    • 0–2 years of work experience (NYSC completed or in progress)

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong analytical and numerical skills
    • Good understanding of basic financial concepts
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • High ethical standards and attention to detail
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis
    • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
