We are seeking to hire an experienced Social Safeguard Officer.
Responsibilities
Raise awareness of contractors and core capacities with regards to the Code of Conduct specifically for preventing and reporting sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) and sexual harassment
Implement strategies regarding social safeguards issues including gender-responsive activities as part of health system strengthening
Implement the community engagement strategy, including the Social Safeguards Famework to assist communities bordering the worksite to participate in the construction and maintenance activities
Monitor work conditions on construction sites, ensuring adherence to labour laws and Decent Work principles
Organize awareness-raising and training activities relating to social safeguards and ensure social safeguards measures are put into practice
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or gender studies
Experience in Gender Based violence is compulsory
Four (4) years post qualification experience in stakeholders’ engagement and management, grievance redress mechanism, and involuntary resettlement planning
Knowledge of gender issues in development particularly GBV, SEA/SH with at least two (2) years’ experiences in GBV (especially in areas of sexual exploitation and abuse, and sexual harassment)
