    Senior Relationship Manager, What Works (Cultural Heritage)

    Role Purpose

    • This role leads on building a coherent What Works strand/programme, ensuring different projects are joined up knowledge exchange beneficiaries to include grantees and/or community stakeholders.
    • This role leads on the Evidence Synthesis, Evidence Reviews and Evidence Generation around our work on International Cultural Heritage Protection through developing a What Works Approach. 
    • This role will participate in and develop external networks to foster knowledge exchange collaborations including with NGOs, Industry, Heritage groups, and government departments and policy makers, in the UK and in partner countries.
    • This role leads on the evidence capacity building, learning and training programmes such as Heritage Protection Research Fellowships and joint evidence training programmes with other international heritage protection organizations.

    Role Specific Knowledge and Experience
    The main essential knowledge and experience points that we are looking for you to evidence are:

    • Qualified to degree level or equivalent by relevant experience
    • Knowledge of the discourse and analysis around heritage protection, international development and foreign policy
    • Experience of commissioning external research projects
    • Experience of writing about research and evidence products to an engaged but non-expert audience
    • Experience of budget management, including planning, forecasting and reporting
    • Experience of working with senior managers and high-level stakeholders including academic and research partners
    • Experience of managing or undertaking knowledge exchange projects or initiatives to engage stakeholders with research and evidence.

    Desirable Experience:

    • Qualified to postgraduate degree level or equivalent by relevant research experience
    • Knowledge of the What Works Approach
    • Experience of working with international and diverse teams
    • Experience of using a range of tools, including software, to disseminate research and insight to a variety of audiences
    • Familiarity with the core institutions and sectors in the UK that commission, undertake, support or enable research including universities, IROs, charities, consultancies, think tanks and government bodies
    • Experience of evaluating and researching ODA funded programmes.

    Role Specific Skills:

    • Ability to write for a variety of audiences, translating research and policy content and tailoring as required
    • Ability to manage the flow of research and policy outputs through a variety of channels, ensuring a pipeline of content tied to strategic objectives
    • Ability to manage face to face, virtual or hybrid events to ensure smooth delivery, appropriate audience engagement and messaging
    • Ability to draft user-friendly knowledge products from research and policy content, such as toolkits, methodologies, analytical documents, policy papers, project and programme documents
    • Ability to collect, collate and organise diverse forms of data and information, across a range of formats and from a range of sources, and to enable this knowledge to be shared, used and added to effectively on an organisational-wide level.
    • Ability to manage web and social media content at a basic level
    • Ability to copy edit and quality review research and policy papers.
