Senior Financial Accountant at Proten

Role Summary

• The Senior Financial Accountant manages day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring 100% accuracy in financial records and ledger integrity. You will lead the preparation of financial statements, manage tax compliance, and supervise junior staff while implementing process improvements to optimize accounting workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate recording of all transactions and lead monthly/annual account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements in strict compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal/external audits and ensure timely filing of all tax and regulatory reports.
• Assist in budget preparation, monitor performance, and provide variance analysis and cost-control recommendations.
• Train and supervise junior accountants and optimize accounting technology/workflows.

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ICAN, ACCA, or CPA (Mandatory).
• 3–5 years in core accounting and financial reporting.
• Advanced knowledge of ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, Odoo) and high-level MS Excel.
• Deep understanding of Nigerian Tax Laws and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
