Job Overview

• We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to lead and establish our finance operations from the ground up.
• This individual will play a critical role in building and managing our finance department, developing financial controls, creating payroll systems, and ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• The ideal candidate must be based in Lagos-island and ready to take full ownership of financial processes in a growing and dynamic organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and structure the finance department, including systems, processes, and internal controls.
• Build and maintain a robust payroll system and employee compensation database.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Handle day-to-day accounting operations including Accounts payable /Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, invoicing, and cash-flow management.
• Ensure timely statutory filings, tax compliance, and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies.
• Implement accounting software and digital tools for efficient finance operations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Advise management on financial planning, risk management, and cost control strategies.
• Lead or support audits and financial reviews.
• Collaborate with HR and other departments on employee compensation and benefits alignment.

Requirements

• A minimum of BSc / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ACA/ACCA or other relevant professional certification is strongly preferred.
• 4-6 years’ accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or department- building capacity.
• Strong knowledge of payroll, tax laws, and Nigerian financial regulations.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books).
• Strong analytical skills, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
