Responsibilities
Supervise operations of accounting related function, entries and controls including bank reconciliation reports, customers’ and suppliers’ accounts reports; inventory audit; and monitoring financial documents, transactions and ensure no manipulation of finances occur, and better control the company's income and expenditures.
Contribute to the development of departmental strategy as cascaded down from the functional strategy and oversee its implementation within own section and its operations,
Manage the section’s daily operations by providing expertise, enabling teamwork, and aligning processes, in order to achieve high performance standards and meet established targets while transferring knowledge.
Contribute to the development and consolidation of the departmental budget and monitor own section’s financial performance versus the budget, in order to ensure the exercising of financial authority within established limits and the control of sectional budget expenditure.
Review accounting transactions of all entries: purchases, sales, stores, etc by reviewing the balances and statements of the entries, to ensure proper accounting entries and control on payments and receivables control with minimal errors
Review and audit bank reconciliation (deposits and withdrawals), by auditing branch cashbox(es), to ensure all fund are properly deposited into the bank.
Monitoring of Customers account, by reviewing the receipts and invoices prepared by the accountants, to ensure it tallies with actual payments by customers.
Supervise payment of all branches related Taxes on monthly basis to ensure correct declarations of amounts and timely remittance, as well as revision of balance sheet and general ledger to ensure accuracy and precision of financial statements.
Provide support to the Audit Exercise by the Internal and external auditors, providing all requirements to ensure smooth audit exercise.
Ensure timely filing of Annual Returns and payment of dues (Company Income Tax, Education Tax, ITF) etc., as well as follow up with the Tax Consultant on Employee’s Tax Clearance processing, to ensure accuracy of taxes payment.
Support and facilitate the data flow and processing between accounting, stores, procurement, and maintenance.
Prepare periodic, monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting closing, and manages the periodic closing of balances and accounts.
Academic Qualifications / Skills Requirements
University Degree (Accounting, Finance, or similar field)
5 to 7 years experience in a similar industry.
3 years of which in a supervisory role.
ICAN certified.
