    Residential Security Alarm Technician

    Summary:

    The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Residential Security Alarm Technician position in the Regional Security Office. The U.S. Mission in Nigeria supports Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA).     Duties

    The Residential Security Technician (RST) will perform technical duties in support of the Missions residential security program. The Incumbent provides a wide variety of technical services to include the installation, maintenance and repair of technical security equipment. Incumbent plans, designs, prepare reports on engineering aspects of Maintenace program, operations and repair. Make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the mission's technical security program and ensure that maintenance strategy, principles and practices are implemented.  

    Education Requirements: Two (2) years university studies in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Enginering is required.

    Experience: Minimum four (4) years of experience as an electrician or an alarm technician and experience with electronics, basic electrical wiring, locks and lighting systems is required. 

    Job Knowledge:

     An expert knowledge and understanding of security technology systems and basic computer skills and office procedures is required. Must have knowledge and/or experience in installing, programing, troubleshooting and repairing alarm systems to include to include the installation and configuration, SMS, Radio base and/or cellular base. Must have knowledge about CCTV Systems. Must have experience working with different types of steel, concrete and masonry wall construction, anchors and bolts.

    Skills And Abilities: 

    Incumbent must hold a valid Nigeria class D driver’s license. Must possess valid Nigeria Class D driver's license for at least five years. Ability to use MS Excel, Access and word software, Office 365, web-based data entry platforms, and internet search engines. The incumbent must have experience installing, troubleshooting and maintenance of CCTV equipment and devices, including configuration of this equipment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
