The Registrar is a Principal Officer of the University and is responsible to the Vice Chancellor as Chief Administrative Officer.
The office covers records, examinations, statutory meetings, committee work and support for the general administration of the University.

Qualified and interested candidates for the Registrar post are required to submit 30 copies each of their application letter and comprehensive curriculum vitae.
Photocopies of relevant credentials must be attached.
The documents should be sent under confidential cover, in a sealed envelope marked "POST OF REGISTRAR, ABU, ZARIA".
Candidates are advised to request three referees to forward reports on them under confidential cover.
