    Production Manager

    Job Purpose

    Ensuring compliance to manufacturing processes and procedures of the company to achieve key performance indicators in collaboration with all stakeholders by constantly
    developing, planning, and implementing operational excellence and training of plant personnel.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Production Planning & Execution

    • Planning to deliver the sales demand ensuring effective utilization of assets at optimum cost of operations
    • Liaison with central and local procurement for effective planning of raw and packing materials ensuring availability as well as monitoring inventory norms
    • Analyze breakdowns and put corrective measures to improve OEE
    • Lead the AM Pillar team in WCM/Operational Excellence and support other pillars on production-related requirements
    • Control over warehouses for raw & packing materials and finished goods
    • Ensure compliance to Safety and Food Safety requirements from the manufacturing function
    • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements
    • Review and monitor operating budgets

    Managing Talent

    • Develop and train the team to improve the effectiveness of implementation of best/next practices in the area of work.
    • Identify training needs of team members to enhance skills and develop/maintain a motivated team.
    • Plan and conduct training for all plant personnel on manufacturing best practices
    • Planning requirements of skilled & unskilled labour and liaison with HR/IR for manpower availability as per the plan
    • Driving cost culture and value delivery
    • Review requirements of production consumables and ensure availability
    • Review cost of production consumables and ensure adherence to budgets
    • Develop alternate vendors to improve performance and cost
    • Drive labor productivity improvements to reduce overall labor cost
    • Management of consumption variance for raw and packing material with effective process control and inventory management
    • Identification of value delivery projects and drive them in coordination with other departments

    Risk Management

    • Review and report compliance status for identified risks
    • Report all business risk related non-conformances and escalation.
    • Report to all concerned stake holders on business risk in this area.
    • Liaise with statutory , regulatory and government agencies

    Projects

    • Selection of Capacity, Capability, Appropriate Technology, Energy requirements etc for Opex and Capex Projects along with Engineering team as and when required
    • Execute implementation of projects within timelines and cost with support of
      Engineering Team
    • Assist in commissioning and start-up of new projects
    • Validate manufacturing aspects during scale up trials and share trial reports to all stakeholders

    Review & Reporting

    • Collection of information on functional activities & present the same
    • Make available information and necessary documents related to manufacturing & AM Pillar KPI for review at any point of time.
    • Develop appropriate tracking mechanism to report progress on a
      daily/weekly/fortnightly /Monthly/Quarterly and on annualized basis on outcomes of implementation of annual operating plan

    Qualification & Experience

    • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Production Engineering from a reputed institute
    • 12+ years of experience in FMCG companies of repute, preferably food products with a minimum of 3 years of experience as Head of Manufacturing/Production department

    Essentials skills & competencies

    • A hands-on experience of implementing TPM or WCM/Operational Excellence is a must. Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma would be an added advantage
    • Experience of managing Production/Manufacturing department of a FMCG plant, preferably food processing & packing
    • Strong people management skills
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity
    • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Good negotiation skills
