    Procurement Officer

    Position Overview

    • We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of food and supplies. This role will ensure cost-effective, ethical, and timely procurement to support our mission of feeding the community.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the food bank’s goals.
    • Source and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and donors for food and non-food items.
    • Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and compliance with agreements.
    • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and distribution teams.
    • Ensure procurement processes comply with organizational policies and donor requirements.
    • Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare regular reports.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • Minimum [2 years] experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics (nonprofit or food industry experience preferred).
    • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
    • Knowledge of procurement regulations, ethical sourcing, and inventory management.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
