As Procurement Officer, your role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, fabrics, accessories, and equipment needed for production.
The ideal candidate must ensure cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and timely delivery while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Responsibilities
Source sustainable and high-quality materials that align with the brand’s vision and production requirements.
Identify and evaluate suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers for fabrics, trims, accessories, and other production materials.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure cost savings and value for the company.
Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials to prevent production delays.
Work closely with the production team to forecast material requirements.
Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs and minimize waste.
Establish and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and ethical sourcing policies.
Resolve disputes and issues with suppliers regarding product quality, delivery, or payment.
Prepare and manage the procurement budget, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals.
Track expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Work with the finance team to ensure timely payments and accurate financial records.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and company policies.
Manage contracts and agreements to mitigate risks and protect the company’s interests.
Stay updated on industry regulations, tariffs, and import/export policies affecting procurement.
Collaborate with the design, production, and logistics teams to align procurement with business needs.
Provide regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost analysis.
Manage procurement-related documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
Person Specification
BSc / HND in Fashion & Clothing Designing, Procurement, Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in procurement, preferably in fashion, textiles, or manufacturing.
Proven experience in vendor negotiation and supplier management.
Strong knowledge of quality control standards and procedures.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with inventory management software.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
