    Porters

    The porter will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests at their accommodation, making dining and entertainment arrangements, assisting guests with their luggage and ensuring that the guest is as comfortable as possible. 
    Ultimately, the Porter will provide the best possible experience for our guests during their stay.

    JOB SPECIALIZATION: Assist with supervising leisure activities such as paddle boat, Volley ball, Movie Under the Stars, Team building activities, Fitness events, Bird watching. 
    This role requires that the candidate knows how to swim and enjoys sports and outdoor activities. The candidate must have a charismatic personality. 

    On completion the Corporate Lodge will include:
    • 20 no. Upscale Guest rooms;
    • Multipurpose Strategy Hall; Board Room;
    • 4 Meeting Rooms;
    • All day fine-dining Restaurant, with ca 60 covers.

    Likewise, The Cottages will include:
    60 upscale villas (Studios, 1-bed and 2 bed);
    Full-service Spa and
     Specialist restaurant, with ca 40 covers.

    The Facility will be developed in phases and Phase 1 is limited to:
    11 villas of the Cottages (6no. studios, 4no. 1-beds, 1 no. 2 bed) with limited Spa services
    Multipurpose Strategy Hall and 2no. Meeting rooms (total capacity of 170) of the Corporate Lodge. 
    Outdoor Venues: The Island and Hole 18 Lawn 

    Any other facilities that may be added over the fullness of time. 

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To consistently provide thoughtful, caring and sincere service.
    • To identify and anticipate Guests’ needs and ensure personalized service is provided
    • To provide Food and Beverage Services as required
    • To assist with any plans or arrangements the guest intends to make during their stay
    • To ensure that all requests from Guests are made possible and are followed up on
    • To fully understand and have knowledge of all in suite services, technology, amenities, functions & systems
    • Ensure repeat guests are met and greeted on a daily basis and profiles are updated
    • Ensure long-staying/special-attention/occasion-celebrating guests are taken care of exclusively, paying particular attention to their needs and requests
    • Respect guest privacy and do not discuss guests’ private information with colleagues
    • Ensure all unattended valuables and belongings inside guest rooms are noted and Supervisor is informed about the same
    • Provide third service to guests by ensuring rooms are tidied up after guests leave rooms
    • Provide prompt laundry service and shoe shine service, ensuring special preferences of guests are met
    • Demonstrate discretion and courtesy when entering into the private space of guests
    • To assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
    • To follow department policies, procedures and service standards

    To follow all safety policies  
    Special Duty: 

    • Supervise all activities within Lakowe Lakes. i.e. Pedal boat rides, Picnic, Team building, Movie under the stars, Volley ball, Bird watching 
    • Ensure that all participants adhere to the rules and regulations of their chosen activity
    • Follow all safety policies for the activities 
    • Provides guests with all necessary information regarding the chosen activity
    • Accompany guests that require assistance in the chose activities 

    SKILLS
    Functional Skills: 

    • The ability to swim is a must
    • Familiar with water sports and boat riding

    Communication skills: 
    o    Have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, safety awareness information, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
    o    Ability to keep logs and to speak effectively to customers and associates
    Generic Skills: 

    • Ability to follow instruction, 
    • Detail-oriented, 
    • Professional attitude is required, 
    • Ability to work independently,
    • Professional experience in Microsoft Office 
    • The ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
    • Sense of organization and planning
    • Good written and verbal communication

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

    • A diploma in hospitality is preferred,
    • Previous customer related experience an asset
    • Previous experience in coordinating activities in a hospitality organization
    • Experience as a Porter or similar role in the hospitality industry
    • Physical mobility and stamina required, 
    • Ability to follow instruction, 
    • Detail-oriented, 
    • Professional attitude is required, 
    • Ability to work independently.
