Pool Attendant / Life Guard at Domeo Resources International (DRI)

Main Function

• The Pool Attendant/Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and smooth operation of the swimming pool area.
• The role monitors swimmers, enforces pool rules, responds to emergencies, maintains pool cleanliness, and assists guests to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
• The ideal candidate must be vigilant, physically fit, attentive, and trained in lifesaving techniques, with a strong commitment to guest safety and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities
Pool Safety Monitoring:

• Monitor pool activities and ensure the safety of all swimmers.
• Enforce pool rules, safety regulations, and facility guidelines.
• Maintain constant surveillance to identify any signs of distress or unsafe behavior.
• Prevent accidents by providing warnings and interventions when necessary.
• Ensure children and inexperienced swimmers are given proper attention.

Emergency Response

• Respond immediately to pool emergencies, including drowning, injuries, or medical incidents.
• Perform lifesaving procedures such as CPR, rescue breathing, or first aid when required.
• Report incidents promptly to the supervisor and complete incident documentation.
• Ensure emergency equipment (first aid kit, rescue tube, life ring) is always accessible.

Pool Area Cleanliness and Maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck, loungers, showers, and surrounding areas.
• Clean and sanitize pool furniture and equipment regularly.
• Assist with water testing and ensure pool chemical levels meet safety standards (if trained).
• Report faulty pool equipment, damaged tiles, or maintenance issues immediately.
• Ensure pool towels and supplies are adequately stocked.

Guest Assistance and Customer Service

• Greet guests courteously and provide a welcoming environment.
• Offer basic swimming guidance and ensure guests feel comfortable using the pool.
• Provide information on pool rules, opening hours, and available amenities.
• Assist guests with locating pool accessories and help maintain order.
• Promote enjoyable and safe recreational experiences.

Operational Support

• Set up and arrange pool furniture in an orderly manner.
• Participate in opening and closing procedures for the pool area.
• Assist with pool events, activities, and facility programs.
• Maintain logs of daily pool activities, incidents, and safety checks.

Experience / Qualifications

• Minimum of SSCE; additional certification in lifesaving or aquatic safety is an added advantage
• Lifeguard certification from recognized bodies (e.g., Red Cross, LSS) is highly desirable
• 1 - 3 years of experience as a lifeguard or pool attendant in hospitality or recreational facilities
• Experience in CPR, First Aid, or emergency response is required
• Strong swimming ability is mandatory
