Job Description

The Photo Lab Technician is responsible for operating  photo laboratory equipment in order to print on-board the highest quality photographs, following company policies and also additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Operates photo laboratory equipment on board, troubleshooting machine issues and malfunctions.
• Ensure the prints are high quality, exceeding clients' expectations.
• Plans, controls and monitors the laboratory stock and notifies the Photo Manager and Fleet Supervisor should any issue arise.
• Keeps the laboratory and storage area in a clean and organized state.
• Ensure to read instructions mentioned on orders plus examine order contents to identify size, type and varied processing requirements.
• Ensure to accurately quantify chemicals and prepare solutions.
• Operated and maintained photo printing machines.
• Prepare and process Ink Refill orders, where available.
• Develops various types of film using a variety of laboratory equipment; determines development process required dependent on film type.
• Maintains chemical levels and solution integrity for automatic processors and hand development systems.
• Performs filter and time analysis while creating Cibachrome prints using different film and paper types.
• Shoots slides from original prints; mounts and labels slides.
• Handle all out-lab products according to proper procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

•  A Bachelor's degree/ND in Photography/Art or related field is preferred. However, If applicant has no formal qualifications, suitable photographic experience will be taken into consideration in lieu of qualifications.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Photography Lab technician or similar position.
• Must be willing to work in an intense, busy and demanding environment.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work independently.

Salary: N45,000 - 50,000/month.
