The Medical Officer is responsible for applying medical knowledge and skills in providing high-quality medical care to patients, diagnosing and treating patients, disease prevention, conduct medical examinations, prescribing medication, provide health education and counselling and promoting overall wellness of patients It will involve collaborating with other clinical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and adhering to medical protocols and standards.
Prescribe and dispense medications in compliance with the organization’s established medical protocols and monitor patient responses.
Work with other members of the management team to implement new clinic operating processes and systems to enhance patient flow, improve clinic administration and facilitate operating excellence.
To undertake ward rounds, make an entry in the patient’s notes as appropriate or any other patient examinations, communication or procedures.
Relating with patients’ relatives / caregivers on present state of health and further management.
Undertaking within your level of experience and competence, certain medical procedures required by your senior colleagues or specialists.
Prompt incident reporting, review and manage patient grievances and implement measures to address them
Liaise with consultants and specialists on patients’ medical condition
Prepare clinics for audits inspection from various health and safety agencies
Strictly adhere to universal precautions as established by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration
Maintain strict patient confidentiality
Complete documentation of patient findings and recommendations at the end of each visit according to established protocols
Maintain awareness of current clinical treatment and information in the assigned area.
Admit patients to the wards only when necessary.
Adhere strictly to the organization’s ethical standards, medical protocols, SOPs, and regulations.
Educate patients and their families about medical conditions and treatments.
Encourage health maintenance and promotion through counseling and awareness activities.
Conduct thorough medical assessments and examinations of patients.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
Monitor and provide general follow up care to patients
Training of staff and providing health talks to patients
Conducting internal quality checks at the hospital from time to time
Providing emotional support to patients and relatives.
Other duties as assigned by MD Clinical & Administration, Medical Director, or Board of Directors.
Requirements
Bachelor\'s Degree in Medicine and Surgery, MBBS
0-2 years of industry/clinical experience
Valid Registration and license by the medical board.
Strong commitment to care of patients and general customer service.
In-depth clinical and empathetic skills
Strong written and oral skills including computer literacy in the main processing, spreadsheet and presentation graphics programs.
