Media and Communication Officer at Centre for Social Cohesion Peace and Empowerment (CENSCOPE)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project communication and media strategies in line with organizational and donor (e.g. UNMAS) requirements.
• Produce high-quality communication materials, including press releases, success stories, human-interest stories, briefs, and social media content.
• Manage organizational social media platforms and website updates related to mine action activities.
• Ensure compliance with donor visibility and branding guidelines in all communication products.
• Coordinate media coverage for project activities, events, and field missions.
• Capture and document project activities through photos, videos, and field reports, ensuring ethical and safety standards are met.
• Support advocacy, awareness, and EORE messaging in collaboration with programme teams.
• Maintain a media contact database and manage relationships with media partners.
• Support donor reporting by contributing communication inputs and evidence of visibility.

Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in photography, videography, and basic video editing tools.
• Experience managing social media platforms and digital communication tools.
• Knowledge of humanitarian communication principles and ethical standards.
• Strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in field-based settings.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in humanitarian, mine action, or development projects.
• Strong understanding of donor visibility requirements and branding guidelines.
• Willingness to travel to field locations and work in challenging environments.
