We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Director with over 10 years of professional experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the strategic direction, growth, and overall success of the organization.
This role requires exceptional leadership, vision, and a deep understanding of the banking industry, preferable in the MFB sector.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic direction of the microfinance bank in compliance with CBN and regulatory guidelines.
Oversee financial reporting to regulatory bodies (CBN, FIRS, NDIC) and ensure timely submission of required reports.
Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with all legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
Manage risk, compliance, and internal control strategies to meet all regulatory requirements.
Develop growth strategies to expand product offerings and market share, focusing on underbanked populations.
Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure long-term profitability.
Engage with CBN for approvals and regulatory support for new products and services.
Build relationships with investors, partners, and key stakeholders in the financial services sector.
Lead the executive team, developing leadership across departments to drive operational efficiency.
Monitor market trends, competitive threats, and business opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
Uphold corporate governance and ethical standards within the organization.
Drive customer acquisition and retention strategies, enhancing the customer experience.
Represent the bank in external forums, industry conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors on performance, strategy, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Proven track record of executive leadership and success in the fintech industry or microfinance bank, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
Demonstrated ability to drive results, manage change, and inspire teams.
In-depth knowledge of fintech trends, technologies, and regulatory landscape.
