Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operations at our Warri base.
The role encompasses strategic, technical, and HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) responsibilities, overseeing the maintenance of a diverse range of assets, including vehicle fleets (LDVs, HDVs, and barges where applicable), yard facilities (e.g., electrical systems, water treatment, sewage, and life support systems), and production equipment (including drilling equipment). As the subject matter expert on everything related to "maintenance," this individual will ensure the highest level of operational efficiency and safety while aligning maintenance activities with organizational goals and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive maintenance strategy that supports company goals and ensures the long-term reliability of equipment and infrastructure.
Lead and manage the maintenance team, providing guidance and oversight on daily operations and ensuring high performance across all tasks.
Coordinate and execute preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of critical machinery and equipment.
Ensure cost-effective management of resources, including preparing and managing the maintenance budget to align with the company's financial goals.
Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and repairs when necessary, especially on equipment such as LDVs, HDVs, and critical production equipment like drilling rigs.
Supervise the maintenance and repair of yard facilities, including electrical systems, water treatment plants, and life-support systems.
Monitor and enforce compliance with safety standards and regulations, ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
Optimize maintenance processes by evaluating operational data and introducing continuous improvements to enhance both efficiency and cost savings.
Manage relationships with external vendors, negotiating contracts for maintenance services and ensuring the timely supply of parts and equipment.
Regularly report to senior management on maintenance performance, identifying challenges and opportunities for improvement.
Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment, ensuring effective communication between maintenance teams and other departments.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a similar role, with expertise in the maintenance of LDVs, HDVs, barges, and production equipment.
In-depth technical knowledge of machinery and equipment used in pipeline construction and yard facilities.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train, mentor, and evaluate performance.
Hands-on experience in strategic maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and execution.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Relevant certifications in mechanical engineering, asset management, or maintenance management will be an advantage.
