    M&E Intern

    Background

    The key expectation of the M&E Intern’s position is to support the M&E Associate in ensuring that Helen Keller Intl’s M&E system within the state is well positioned to provide continuous technical guidance, capacity building, M&E systems strengthening to Helen Keller supported activities.

    Specific responsibilities

    • Willingness to operate in remote LGAs/communities overseeing mass drug administration for NTDs.
    • Identify learning opportunities and proactively engage in activities outlined in the implementation plan.
    • Assist the state program team in conducting training sessions for program implementers.
    • Support the state team in executing key activities, including supervising mass drug administration, data validation and collection, and morbidity management such as hydrocele surgery.
    • Aid in entering program data by assisting contracted resident independent monitors during data entry into the national template.
    • Participate in the distribution of NTDs commodities from the state medical store to health facilities, ensuring adherence to distribution plans.
    • Engage in data quality assessment exercises such as spot checks, data validation, and supervisor’s coverage surveys.
    • Collaborate closely with resident independent monitors to archive both softcopies and hardcopies of financial documents and ODK supervision checklists.
    • Adhere strictly to Helen Keller International policies and procedures as outlined in the organization’s manuals.
    • Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor, reflecting positively on Helen Keller International and preserving the organization's image.
    • Assist in developing case studies and success stories from program implementation.
    • Fulfill any other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A minimum of a bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
    • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
    • Experience in community-based programming is advantageous.
    • Exceptional communication skills and a compassionate approach towards beneficiaries.
    • Proficient in both verbal and written communication.
    • Fluency in written and spoken English.
    • Proficiency in Ibibio language.
    • Adequate IT skills.
