Legal Officer at Kuhl-Cher Limited

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking to hire a legal officer for our client, a reputable organization in the Oil and Gas sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and/or advising on all legal matters, commercial contracts, and agreements. He/she will ensure the company complies with the statutory and corporate governance practices and guidelines, as observed in the Oil and Gas sector.

• Minimum Qualification: Degree
• Experience Level: Mid-level
• Experience Length: 2-3 years

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Formulate internal governance policies and monitor compliance.
• Ensure compliance with all the registers and other records, required to be maintained by the Company under the Company and Allied Matters Act (CAMA)
• Draft a wide variety of agreements, contracts, and other legal documents, to protect the company’s rights.
• Provide counsel to management on corporate legal issues and business matters.
• Provide internal advisory services to the business units and departments within the Company.
• Provide commercial legal support to all departmental projects and job functions.
• Assist in the development of guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Analyze and review legal agreements, legislation and documents for the organization, subsidiaries, and Board.
• Ensure (internal & external) compliance with laid down guidelines, policies, and procedures; investigate issues of non-compliance as may be required.
• Review and advice management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
• Be up to date on changes in legislation.

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate degree in law
• Member of the Nigerian Bar Association 
• A minimum of 2 years’ post NYSC experience
• Knowledge of relevant statutory laws and regulations
• Skillful in legal drafting, advisory and contract management
• Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills, as well as good problem solving ability
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Excellent understanding of corporate law
