Lead, Corporate Communications at Felton Energy Services Ltd (FESL)

Job Purpose

• The Lead, Corporate Communications, will serve as the strategic and operational head of communications at Felton Energy. This role is responsible for building the communications function from the ground up, shaping the company’s narrative, strengthening internal culture, and ensuring Felton Energy is visible, credible, and well-positioned within the Nigerian oil & gas industry. The ideal candidate will guide messaging, enhance external visibility, support executive positioning, and coordinate closely with an external communications agency to deliver high-quality communication outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish Felton Energy’s internal communications structure, processes, and foundational operating systems.
• Translate the 2026 Communications Plan into clear strategies, priorities, and actionable deliverables.
• Serve as the internal custodian of Felton Energy’s messaging, narrative, and communication direction.
• Ensure alignment across leadership, operations, project teams, and the wider organization.
• Lead external communications to strengthen visibility across energy, oil & gas, and infrastructure platforms.
• Coordinate execution with the external communications agency, ensuring quality and consistency of messaging.
• Drive Felton Energy’s participation, visibility, and impact before, during, and after key industry events and conferences.
• Support the CEO and senior leadership with high-level messaging, talking points, and thought leadership content.
• Position Felton Energy’s executives as credible industry voices across traditional and digital platforms.
• Lead internal communications including leadership messages, staff updates, and organization-wide announcements.
• Strengthen internal alignment, employee engagement, and company-wide awareness of initiatives and values.
• Manage agency relationships, ensuring deliverables align with Felton’s brand direction and communication goals.
• Oversee digital communication strategy, ensuring online content reflects the company’s people, projects, and innovations.
• Review high-level analytics, insights, and performance reports provided by the communications agency.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

• 7–10 years proven experience in Corporate Communications, PR, Media Relations, or Strategic Communications
• Strong experience working within oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, or related technical industries
• Demonstrated ability to build communication structures, strategies, and systems from scratch
• Excellent writing, storytelling, editing, and executive communication skills
• Strong understanding of digital communications, corporate visibility, and brand positioning
• Ability to manage agencies, coordinate deliverables, and ensure quality execution
• Strong interpersonal skills, stakeholder engagement capability, and leadership presence
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing multiple priorities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, English, Business, or related field
• Professional certifications in Communications, PR, or Brand Management are an added advantage
