    Junior HR Officer

    About the Role

    Our client in the healthcare industry is seeking a smart, agile, and proactive junior HR officer. The ideal candidate will support a range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and compliance with HR policies.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Assist in end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes.
    • Maintain accurate employee records (digital and physical).
    • Support performance appraisal processes and employee engagement initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (NSITF, pension, HMO, tax, etc.).
    • Handle routine employee queries and provide support in resolving HR-related issues.
    • Track staff leave, attendance, shift schedules, and provide reports to management.
    • Assist in coordinating mandatory health training, certifications, and compliance programs.
    • Support employee welfare initiatives, engagement activities, and conflict resolution.
    • Help with payroll preparation by collecting attendance and overtime data.
    • Ensure HR policies and procedures are followed in line with labor laws and healthcare regulations.
    • Respond to basic HR inquiries from clinical and non-clinical staff.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Manager.
    • Support HR reporting and documentation.
    • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

    Requirements

    • B.Sc./HND in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
    • 2–3 years of hands-on HR generalist experience.
    • Male candidates are encouraged to apply (for gender balance).
    • Solid understanding of Nigerian labor law and HR practices. 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
    • Must be smart, agile, proactive, and able to take initiative. 
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
