    IT Officer

    Job Description:

    As an IT Officer, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support, maintain IT infrastructure, and ensure the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and software applications within the organization. You will assist users with troubleshooting issues, implement security measures, manage hardware and software resources, and contribute to the overall IT strategy and technology roadmap.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Provide technical support to end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
    2. Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
    3. Set up and maintain computer networks, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
    4. Monitor and optimize network performance, troubleshoot network connectivity problems, and implement necessary adjustments.
    5. Maintain and administer servers, including installation, configuration, and regular updates and patches.
    6. Manage and maintain backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
    7. Ensure the security of computer systems, networks, and data by implementing and monitoring appropriate security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls.
    8. Provide user training and support on software applications, including email, productivity tools, and specialized software.
    9. Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions based on business needs, performance requirements, and cost-effectiveness.
    10. Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
    11. Conduct research on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices to ensure the organization remains technologically competitive.
    12. Document IT processes, procedures, and system configurations for knowledge sharing and reference.
    13. Manage IT assets, including hardware and software inventory, licensing, and maintenance schedules.
    14. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for procurement, maintenance, and support of IT systems and services.
    15. Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to IT operations.
    16. Participate in the development and implementation of IT policies, standards, and procedures.
    17. Assist in the development and execution of IT training programs for employees.
    18. Keep abreast of the organization's goals, strategies, and technology needs to align IT initiatives accordingly.
    19. Support the IT Manager or IT team in various IT-related tasks and projects as needed.

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional, Cisco Certified Network Associate) are advantageous.
    2. Proven work experience as an IT Officer, IT Support Specialist, or similar role.
    3. Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills in computer hardware, software, and networks.
    4. Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software applications.
    5. Knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security principles.
    6. Experience in managing and maintaining servers, including Windows Server and Linux-based systems.
    7. Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud computing platforms.
    8. Understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and common security threats.
    9. Ability to perform basic scripting and automation tasks (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
    10. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
    11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with users and stakeholders at all levels.
    12. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    13. Project management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    14. Flexibility to adapt to changing technology trends and organizational needs.
    15. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the IT field.
