JOB SUMMARY:

The Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the executive leadership team. Sh/e is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the Client. The role involves financial planning, budgeting, risk management, cost control, sound financial record-keeping, financial reporting and ensuring fiscal responsibility to support the the Client’s goals and growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct and oversee all aspects of finance, accounting and budgeting functions.
• Develop and put in place, sound financial and accounting policies and procedures to guide financial operations at the Client.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the management and the Board.
• Manage the Client's cash flow and expenses.
• Ensure statutory tax compliance including PAYE, VAT, WHT and corporate tax.
• Approve official financial transactions in line with the Client’s financial guidelines.
• Support procurement and contract negotiations from a financial standpoint.
• Perform risk management by analyzing the Client’s liabilities and investments.
• Ensure that all accounting records are accurate and properly maintained.
• Provide leadership and supervise the finance team members.
• Oversee relationships with auditors, banks and other financial partners.
• Promote a culture of accountability and performance excellence relative to the Client’s finances.
• Manage relationship with vendors to uphold the financial prudence of the Client.
• Any other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with an MBA.
• Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CFA are required.
• Minimum of 12 years’ progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and corporate governance awareness.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
