As the IT Manager for TwiningsOvo's new Ovaltine production factory in Nigeria, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining the plant's IT ecosystem.
Your primary responsibility will be to lead the end-to-end deployment of IT infrastructure, software systems, and other technology-related components necessary for the successful launch of the factory, ensuring alignment with the planned Go-live date.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across countries (UK&I, India, and Nigeria teams), including BizTech, SSC, engineering, operations, and project management, to understand and support the implementation of the IT requirements for the factory.
Responsible for executing Global IT strategy that encompasses hardware, software, networking, cybersecurity, and other technological necessities.
Oversee the implementation of critical IT infrastructure of 3rd party and Internal systems, such as control systems, manufacturing software, and communication networks, to enable seamless production operations from day one.
Lead the integration of 3rd Party ERP systems and relevant manufacturing software to streamline production processes and data management.
Monitor and manage the progress of IT deployment activities, addressing any roadblocks or challenges that may arise to maintain the Go-live timeline.
Ensure all IT systems are implemented as per the standards set by central BizTech and SSC teams
Transition into a Business-As-Usual (BAU) role, overseeing the ongoing IT operations of the factory.
Maintain and enhance the performance, reliability, and security of the plant's IT infrastructure, including control systems, networks, and software platforms.
Collaborate with plant management and department heads to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and technological advancements that align with production goals.
Work with business to identify opportunities to leverage technology to deliver Nigeria strategy from Commercial, supply chain, manufacturing and warehousing process and technology
Primary point of escalation for IT issues within the Nigeria market – collaborating with SSC (Shared Service Centre) and Central BizTech teams
Maintain an understanding of Nigerian compliance and regulatory requirements related to IT systems and services and partner with SSC and Central BizTech teams to ensure ongoing compliance
Provide technical capability to own and resolve escalated incidents in collaboration with application owners, users and third parties and the SSC
Maintain and manage relationships with key IT 3rd party suppliers to the Nigeria business
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in IT management roles, preferably within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Solid understanding of plant IT infrastructure, including control systems, networks, cybersecurity practices, and system administration.
Experiences in factory-related technology and automation
Familiarity with local regulations and compliance standards pertaining to IT in the Nigerian manufacturing sector.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills tailored for plant operations.
Ability to formulate and execute IT strategies that enhance plant productivity and efficiency.
Proficiency in managing and optimizing industrial IT infrastructure, including SCADA systems, PLCs, and automation equipment.
Expertise in implementing cybersecurity measures specific to manufacturing processes and safeguarding production data.
Skill in leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of IT professionals focused on plant systems.
Strong troubleshooting and technical support abilities for plant floor IT incidents.
Proficiency in overseeing IT helpdesk operations within a manufacturing context.
Skilful project management, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution of plant-focused IT projects.
Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software used in plant operations.
