    HSE Officer

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Officer to oversee, implement, and maintain rigorous health, safety, and environmental protocols across our manufacturing facility.
    • Working closely with both the Operations and Quality teams, the ideal candidatewill ensure strict compliance with local occupational health laws as well as global food safety and environmental standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all factory operations strictly align with local safety regulations, environmental laws, and food industry standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
    • Risk Assessments: Conduct daily safety walk-throughs, routine audits, hazard identification, and risk assessments across the production floor, warehouses, and engineering units.
    • Hygiene & GMP Enforcement: Collaborate with the Quality Control (QC) team to enforce strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), chemical handling safety, and pest control protocols.
    • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents, near-misses, or environmental issues; analyze root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
    • Safety Training: Design and deliver continuous HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and specialized safety training programs for factory workers and contractors.
    • Waste & Emissions Management: Monitor effluent treatment systems, gas emissions, and food waste disposal mechanisms to ensure minimal environmental footprint.
    • Reporting: Maintain accurate HSE logs, accident registers, and compile comprehensive monthly performance metrics for senior management.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Food Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • Professional HSE certification is required (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or recognized local equivalent certification).
    • 3–5 years of proven experience as an HSE Officer specifically within a food manufacturing, beverage, or FMCG processing plant.
    • Deep understanding of factory physical hazards, machine guarding, fire safety systems, and chemical safety data sheets (SDDS).
    • Strong leadership, assertive communication, and the ability to manage emergencies calmly and effectively.
