    • This is not an entry-level role. It is designed for a smart, driven, and technically strong professional who wants to work on meaningful environmental, social, ESG, and sustainability projects across industry, infrastructure, energy, and development sectors.
    • The ideal candidate is not just someone who can write reports. We are looking for a thinker, problem-solver, field leader, and consultant who can interpret complex environmental and social issues, engage stakeholders, manage project deliverables, and produce work that clients and regulators can rely on.

    About the Role

    • As an Environmental and Social Specialist, you will support and lead assignments involving environmental and social impact assessment, ESG advisory, regulatory compliance, environmental monitoring, sustainability reporting, stakeholder engagement, and project implementation support.
    • You will work across field studies, data analysis, client advisory, regulatory documentation, and technical reporting, with the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects and grow into a leadership role within the firm.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and support Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Plans, audits, compliance studies, and related technical reports.
    • Coordinate field-based environmental and social surveys, including air, water, soil, noise, biodiversity, socio-economic, and stakeholder-related studies.
    • Interpret environmental and social data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
    • Support ESG assessments, sustainability reporting, gap analysis, and client advisory assignments.
    • Ensure alignment with Nigerian regulatory requirements, including FMEnv, NESREA, NUPRC, State Environmental Agencies, and other applicable authorities.
    • Apply relevant international standards and frameworks, including IFC Performance Standards, World Bank EHS Guidelines, Equator Principles, and recognized ESG/sustainability reporting frameworks.
    • Manage project timelines, field teams, consultants, data, documentation, and client deliverables.
    • Support permitting, stakeholder engagement, regulatory liaison, and project close-out documentation.
    • Prepare clear, defensible, and client-ready technical reports.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Geography, Chemistry, Sustainability, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in environmental consulting, ESG, E&S risk management, field studies, regulatory compliance, or sustainability projects.
    • Strong understanding of environmental and social assessment processes.
    • Practical experience with fieldwork, environmental monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and technical reporting.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian environmental regulations and international E&S/ESG standards.
    • Ability to write excellent technical reports with minimal supervision.
    • Strong project coordination, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • GIS/GPS, data analysis, environmental monitoring, or laboratory exposure will be an advantage.

    Why Join EnvironQuest?

    • This role offers the opportunity to work on serious, technically demanding projects that require judgment, creativity, and professional depth.
    • You will join a growing consulting firm where strong performers can take ownership, influence project direction, engage with clients, and contribute directly to the development of practical environmental and sustainability solutions.
    • We are looking for someone who wants more than a job title — someone who wants to build expertise, lead meaningful assignments, and grow with a company positioned for serious impact.
