    HR / Legal Officer

    Job Description

    • The Legal / HR Officer will be responsible for managing the legal and human resources functions within the company.
    • This dual-role position requires a professional with expertise in both legal and HR matters, capable of handling compliance, employee relations, policy development, and more.
    • The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex legal and HR issues.

    Key Responsibilities
    Legal Compliance:

    • Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
    • Provide legal advice and support on corporate, commercial, labor, and employment law matters.
    • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other third-party service providers.
    • Conduct legal research and keep abreast of legal developments affecting the company.

    HR Management:

    • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
    • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and best practices.
    • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.

    Policy Development:

    • Develop and implement company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance and promote a positive work environment.
    • Conduct regular reviews and updates of company policies to reflect changes in laws and regulations.
    • Communicate policy changes to employees and provide training as necessary.

    Employee Relations:

    • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR and legal matters.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through effective communication and employee engagement initiatives.
    • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and issues, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.

    Risk Management:

    • Identify and mitigate legal and HR-related risks.
    • Develop and implement strategies to minimize legal exposure and protect company interests.
    • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping to support legal and HR actions.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Juris Doctor (JD) Degree or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal and/or HR role, with a strong understanding of labor and employment laws.
    • Proven experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents and contracts.
    • In-depth knowledge of HR practices, policies, and procedures.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
    • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
    • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
