Head of Operations - SPADE at The Startup Place Limited

• We are seeking a Head of Operations to drive the execution of our ambitious growth strategy, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure SPADE becomes the most trusted and innovative online casino in Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Oversee daily operations across payments, customer service, agent networks, and platform performance.
• Design and implement scalable operational processes to support rapid growth.
• Recruit, build and lead a strong operations team in Nigeria.

Payments & Compliance

• Ensure seamless integration of all payment providers (banks, digital wallets, agents, kiosks).
• Oversee financial operations in partnership with CFO, ensuring regulatory compliance with Nigerian gambling and financial authorities.
• Establish robust KYC/AML practices to ensure responsible operations.

Customer Experience & Platform Management

• Work with product and tech teams to ensure the platform delivers intuitive UI and personalized gaming experiences.
• Oversee 24/7 customer support operations, focusing on minimal wait times and high satisfaction.

Partnerships & Growth Enablement

• Coordinate with marketing and partnerships teams to align operational capacity with customer acquisition campaigns.
• Build strong relationships with regulators, payment providers, agents, and local business partners.

Performance & Reporting

• Define and track KPIs across operations, including payout times, customer satisfaction, platform uptime, and player retention.
• Report regularly to executive leadership on operational performance, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

• 10+ years’ experience in operations leadership, ideally within fintech, iGaming, online services, or payments.
• Proven experience scaling operations in a fast-growing digital business in Nigeria or similar markets.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian regulatory environment (gambling, payments, financial compliance).
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with experience building high-performing teams.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate metrics into operational improvements.
• Exceptional problem-solving and execution skills in fast-paced environments.
