About the job

• The Head Legal & Compliance is accountable for Hyde’s legal and compliance function with responsibilities including providing expert legal advice to executives, board and staff on business and corporate activities; supervising all business and legal affairs and projects; and negotiating and managing all external counsel activities.
• The jobholder sets internal corporate governance policies, manages the impact of external factors such as contractual matters, litigation, taxation policies, and regulatory matters amongst others.

Qualifications

• A university degree (minimum of a second class lower) LL. B with admittance into the Nigerian Bar.
• A post-graduate degree in Law is preferred
• Specialisation in oil & gas law and corporate or commercial law
• Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience in corporate and commercial law with experience in regulatory affairs
• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry
• Exposure to a wide range of legal issues
