    Head of Human Resources

    Responsibilities

    • Formulates, updates and implements HR strategies, policies and processes in line with the company’s business strategy, key business objectives and applicable labor laws.
    • Communicates human resources strategy and approved operating plan to Heads of Business units/Functional Heads and Line Managers to ensure understanding and commitment.
    • Liaises with Heads of Business Units/functional Heads and Line Managers to communicate HR policies, procedures and processes to all staff and ensure compliance.
    • Develops effective working relationships with Senior Management Team, Heads of Business Units/Functional Heads and Line Managers to ensure the delivery of HR plans to support the achievement of business areas and HR strategies.
    • Prepares and implement annual budget and plan for the HR department.
    • Drives the definition of corporate culture and values of ICNL with top management.
    • Develops and implements programs to facilitate implementation of defined corporate culture and values.
    • Provides strong leadership to drive adherence to organizational culture across ICNL.
    • Drives and oversees all organization development/change interventions/programs designed to create an organization climate and culture that is focused on increased employee satisfaction/motivation and thus increased productivity and individual/team performance.
    • Coordinate the recruitment and selection process to ensure that the organization is adequately staffed by qualified and highly motivated personnel.
    • Develops attraction and retention strategies for keeping top performing talents of the company.
    • Coordinates with the Heads of Business Units/Functional Heads and Line Manager, to design and implement staff training and development strategies and plans to ensure identified needs are addressed and suitable training interventions. 
    • Defines and maintains a competitive and merit-based compensation system to support company strategy in attracting and retaining staff. 
    • Establish appropriate human resources management systems i.e., induction and orientation, performance management, training/learning and development, compensation, exit management, retirement, employee relations, etc.
    • Leads and directs the HR team to deliver appropriate and efficient customer focused service across the HR value chain.
    • Advices executive management staff/line managers on people management issues and liaises with Legal Department to determine legal implications of human resource management practices within ICNL.
    • Oversees the management of the Company’s human resource information management systems.
    • Directs and motivates HR function staff in delivering the people management mandate in line with key deliverables specified in service level agreements (SLAs).
    • Facilitates the achievement of industrial peace and harmony within the organization.
    • Reviews and reports on the performance of the HR function against key performance targets.

    Qualifications

    •  Minimum of first degree/ HND in any social sciences, humanities, business administration or Law discipline is required.
    • Professional certification in Human resources from any of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Nigeria, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) USA, Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) UK is required.
    • MBA or Master’s degree in any related discipline is an added advantage
    • Minimum of 10 years cognate experience, 4 of which must have been in a generalist senior management HR role in a conglomerate or similar ICNL organization.
